Sanya Malhotra Was Rejected From Did’s Audition By Dance Deewane 3 Judge Dharmesh Yelande(Photo Credit –Instagram)
They say Bollywood is a ‘fateful’ industry. Luck By Chance, as Zoya Akhtar aptly called it. You might reach the top despite being a mediocre talent, and you might never make it despite hustling and struggling and having a lot of potentials. Many times, actors and artists arrive much late, and two such artists were Sanya Malhotra and Dharmesh Yelande. But the interesting part is that both of them are getting their due.
What if we tell you that Sanya was once rejected as a talent by Dharmesh himself? The actress once revealed how she auditioned for Dance India Dance but was rejected in the initial rounds since she did not have a sob story. However, she even confessed that choreographer Dharmesh Yelande was a part of the crew when she got rejected.

Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan & Aamir Khan’s Debut As Hosts Was A Very Costly Affair. (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan, the trio, have always been clubbed together. Be it for rivalries or some other discussion; you together call them the Khans of Bollywood. Much later, even Saif Ali Khan joined the group as the fourth Khan, but much more hesitatingly. The Khan means the trio.
Interestingly, while all three of them turned superstars with their debut films, they all belong to the same number as far as their ages are concerned. While they have seen highs and lows and fought with each other in their young days, the good part is they have stuck around each other and today share a very mature and healthy relationship.

It was almost five years back when Nikkhil Advani had last directed a feature film. It was a highly dramatic Batla House featuring John Abraham in the lead, which was a hit at the box office and brought in almost 100 crores. The year was 2019, when different genres were really working well in theatres, though the scenario changed a year later with the pandemic, and the focus shifted more towards high-decibel action films, something that struck with full throttle in 2023 with the arrival of Pathaan, Gadar 2, Jawan and Animal.
Circa 2024, and Nikkhil is now coming up with his first ever out-and-out action film, Vedaa. Yet again, he has paired up with John Abraham for the film. Apart from Batla House, he has also directed the actor in Salaam-e-Ishq, while also producing Satyameva Jayate, which boasts of the biggest opening ever for the actor as a main lead.

Amruta Khanvilkar on bifurcation in Bollywood: There are actors, then there are stars and superstars
Actress Amruta Khanvilkar, who has worked in Marathi cinema, made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with ‘Mumbai Salsa’ but gained the spotlight in 2009 with the music video ‘Aye Hip Hopper’, says despite being an established actor in any regional language it is never easy to get a break in Bollywood.
“I think Bollywood, in general, is very hard to crack for everybody, be it regional or Hindi-speaking people,” said the 37-year-old actress, who gained popularity in 2010 with her Lavani dance performance ‘Wajale ki bara’ in the Marathi film ‘Natarang’.
Amruta says Bollywood has a lot of stereotypes.
“The thing about Bollywood is that there are a lot of stereotypes. Like, there are actors and then there are stars and superstars, so there is a lot of bifurcation unlike in Marathi industry. I’ve been fortunate because I have worked with a few of these great filmmakers, be it Meghna Gulzar, Milap Zaveri,...

Wiser and smarter after spending years in Bollywood and delivering multiple consecutive biggies, Kartik Aaryan certainly knows what he is talking and what he is selling. The testimony to that is Dhamaka which is the biggest Ott original to have come out of the Indian film industry and stays on to be a top trending film on the digital medium. What makes it further special is the fact that the suspense drama thriller has arrived at a time when theatres are back to bring open, as a result of which at least four major films are already playing on screen.
“Dhamaka released two weeks after Sooryavanshi and let’s admit it, the arrival of the Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty film resulted in a lot of diversion of attention from Ott back to theatres. A market that was really hot for the last 20 months during the pandemic saw a shift in attention since theatres,...

Satyameva Jayate 2
Starring John Abraham, Divya Khosla
Written & Directed by Milap Zaveri
How does he do it? Which energy-boosting drink does Milap Zaveri consume to whip up such a high-level energy in every shot?
Satyameva Jayate 2 is like a ceaseless string of high-pitched climactic sequences that roll out one after another. Just keeping up with Milap Zaveri’s energy level is exhausting for the audience. But he won’t let us off the hook. His anti-corruption tirade is loud and crude. But it’s also the harsh reality of modern India where every day a new scum and a scam is unearthed. Every week one more newly constructed bridge falls, and every day a child gets raped(these statistics are dubious, just like the Indian politics and bureaucracy).
Meet Zaveri’s twin heroes Jay and Satya, both played by John Abraham and hence hard to tell apart besides...

Mumbai, March 18 (Ians) Award shows are a big no-no for actor John Abraham, who said that he has no respect for them. The actor, who will soon be seen in the film "Mumbai Saga", refers to award shows as "circus" and says he maintains distance from such events.
"I totally don't respect awards. It's a joke. It's comical to see actors dance and then collect an award and make funny jokes," he told Ians.
However, he knows that people who take part in these shows don't view them in this way.
"I feel what they are doing is not necessarily wrong or what I am doing is wrong. But I am on this side of the fence. I am quiet about it. I just don't go for these functions. I will be a joker going to a circus, it will be demeaning and I don't want to do that,...

Mumbai, March 9 (Ians) Hit director-actor combos are all set to be back in business this year. From Rohit Shetty-Ranveer Singh to Salman Khan-Prabhudheva and from Taapsee Pannu-Anurag Kashyap to Ranbir Kapoor-Ayan Mukerji, there are a host of teams lined up in some of the biggest projects, which have spelt magic at the box office in the past.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels this is always a boon. "It is always better to repeat 'jodi's. It doesn't matter if it is actors working again with each other or directors reuniting with actors. The expectation of the audiences increases and there is a curiosity. But, yes, at the end of the day it all depends on content. That has to be good," he said.

Mumbai, March 6: Terming the voluminous 12,000-page charge sheet filed against Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and 31 others as "expected", their lawyer Satish Maneshinde launched a sharp attack on the Narcotics Control Bureau (Ncb), virtually accusing it of a witch-hunt, here on Saturday.
"All efforts of the Ncb have been directed towards Rhea Chakraborty, to somehow rope her in. The entire Ncb, from top to bottom was engaged in unearthing the drug angle in Bollywood," Maneshinde said.
"The charge sheet is a damp squib standing on the foundation of inadmissible evidence and statements recorded under Ndps Act Sec. 67 even after the Supreme Court judgement in the Toofan Singh case. Without Rhea Chakraborty being charged, this case has no substance," Maneshinde said.
Referring to the Ncb' contentions in the charge sheet that it has seized various narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances (Alprazolam and Clonazepam), the lawyer rubbished the federal drug agency's claims.

Mumbai, Feb 24: Bollywood might have had a slow run last year with lockdown prompting total closure of cinema halls through most of 2020, but the industry sure has plans to bounce back with multiple big-ticket films over the next months. A large chunk of these are sequels.
Sequels come with the advantage of a ready fan base, because fans of the earlier film or films in the series hope to see what happens next in the franchise. That, in itself, can be a huge advantage for any filmmaker, at a time Bollywood is going all out to woo the crowds back to the theatres.
"Sequels have always worked as they have a big advantage of coming after a super successful film. The films already enjoy popularity and many people go to watch them. Rohit Shetty has been very lucky that way that most of the sequels of his films have...

Dancer-actress Nora Fatehi has made her mark with a series of special dance numbers in Bollywood films, and many of her big dance hits have been voiced by playback star Neha Kakkar. Nora feels there is something magical about the way Neha sings.

“Shut Up Sona” was originally conceived as a showcase of Indian singer Sona Mohapatra’s music and artistic heritage, but after three years of filming, Deepti Gupta’s film morphed into something more.

Of late, there have been some extensive debates, conversations (and unfortunately) arguments too over the whole insider v/s outsider phenomenon. While this could well be true for any industry, it gets noticed the most in Bollywood due to the glamour quotient involved with it. There are some insiders who are successful but then there are also outsiders, who have made Bollywood their home.
Three such major stars who have been successful in making that happen for them are Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.
Shah Rukh Khan’s story is what legends are made of, Akshay Kumar has been an epitome of hard work while John Abraham has been all about making his choices count. While Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar’s story goes three decades back in time, even John Abraham has been consistency personified, what with an initial struggle that goes more than two decades back.

Actress Amruta Khanvilkar, who is one of the 10 participants of the action reality show "Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 10" (Kkk 10) hopes to get more opportunities to act in action films after the show goes on air.
"I just hope that once all my episodes go on air, I get more roles where I get a chance to do action and stunts. There is a certain fearless factor that I have and, I must say, after participating in 'KKK10' I am more confident to take risks. I think, for us, it is comparatively easy to do action sequences than what we did in the reality show. In the show, there is an element of unpredictability whereas in films, everything is choreographed and there are retakes and small takes. The way women-oriented films are becoming common in our mainstream entertainment space, action films for women should become the same for us...

Veteran producer Anand Pandit along with the entire team of biopic Pm Narendra Modi have faced a tough time releasing the film. The team calls it as a classic case of Bollywood becoming a soft target at the hand of politicians.
?
Having braved the storm and fought for justice, team Pm Narendra Modi is gearing up for the release of the film on May 24th. On the eve of the release Pandit has made an appeal to the film fraternity. "Time and again art and creativity have faced challenges at the altar of politics. We, as the entertainment industry, are soft target. We must stand united to fight these challenges and back each other in such times. The film has not just been a cinematic journey but one that has personally been a struggle for justice. It is a time to be united as an industry and support a cinematic endeavour that has no agenda.

The 'josh' for patriotic films is 'high' in Bollywood. After the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike, Hindi movie buffs can gear up to watch Kesari, Major, Raw, Batla House, Panipat, Saare Jahaan Se Accha, Mission Mangal, '83 and a biopic on Kargil war hero Vikram Batra, among others. Amid the escalating tension between India and Pakistan, netizens turned to past and recent patriotic films to dig out memorable dialogues, the most recent being from "Uri: The Surgical Strike", based on the surgical strikes that India conducted on terror camps in Pakistan in 2016.
The Indian Air Force's air strike on terror camps in Pakistan, which was in retaliation to the February 14 Pulwama terror attack, led to social media speculations that a "Surgical Strike 2" could be made.

It has been a busy 2018 for award-winning Indian actor Manoj Bajpayee. He featured in smash Bollywood hits “Baaghi 2” and “Satyameva Jayate,” and in acclaimed independent films “In the Shadows,” “Missing” and “Love Sonia.” Bajpayee stars in and is a co-producer on “Bhonsle,” which had its world premiere at Busan Oct. 5 and is a nominee for the Kim Ji-seok Award.
In “Bhonsle,” directed by Devashish Makhija (whose “Ajji” played Busan in 2017), Bajpayee plays a reclusive Mumbai policeman who stands up against divisive factions. It is the actor’s third film in recent years at the festival after “Aligarh” in 2015 and “In the Shadows” in 2017. For Bajpayee, wearing the twin hats of an actor and a producer has been a balancing act. In the case of “Bhonsle,” he had to step in as a producer when existing producers backed out.
