OK so 3 episodes in and they are still doing an 'origin story' where Cliff is the only one ready to accept being a hero.
So honestly I only read these comics when I was 8 and have vague memories of it, but it was never a 'good' comic so I don't care if they stick to the comic, but I am pretty sure more 'superhero' stuff went on in the comics than in this show.
So some fundemental problems I have is, both Rita and Larry have had more than 50 years to come to terms with controlling their gifts, yet they act like this is all new to them. Not buying it. Crazy Jane is the only believable one of them. Also if they want to be heroes Jane kinda needs to stop stappling things to peoples heads. She is kinda like their Wolvarine I suppose.
I am also getting a little tired of the Larry subplot. I fully understand how hard/impossible it was to be a gay man before today and even worse so in the 50s but just because he is doesn't give him a free pass. He cheated on his wife, he is not the victim here. I had plenty of gay friends who had fake mariages but still never cheated. They ended their relationship to pursure their 'true soul' and be who they were. Just because you are the pursecuted doesn't mean you are allowed to be bad. I really feel bad for his wife who was trying to make it work. That said, what ultimately happened to him is beyond tragic and, again not knowing the comic or the characters, I don't know what the Negative man wants with Larry so I feel for him in that respect, though again 50+ years to work things out they should be futher along knowing each other.
I feel like this show would have benefited from being a period piece and being set in the 60s or 70s but that's my personal opinion.
