I'm really enjoying this series , but what is this, a drama or a comedy drama?

Warning: Spoilers
Very good so far but there are some serious weaknesses with the storyline. Number one, the 'American' that does the dirty work for the embedded Nazis is not exactly reluctant to go around killing people, he knows that Millie , FBI agent is on the case and serious thorn in their side so why hasn't he killed her yet? And again , when it comes to Millie how come she didn't hear when her friends were tortured and probably killed when the 'American' asked about Millie? Apart from that, ep1 was brilliant but it's hard to know if the screenwriters wanted this to be a comedy drama, or a serious drama? 'The team' of Hunters look like a throw back to the old days of Mission Impossible with Mr. T and other silly characters. Some scenes are really hard hitting and then it goes into 70's style silly movie title themes? A cracker of a closing to the episode though!

I wish they'd stuck to serious. I'd like to have given it a 9 or 10 rating. Anyhow, despite some silliness in between times very very watchable with strong performances all round. PS One really stupid blunder in Ep 1. The violin player was bowing the strings between the bridge and tail piece, it wouldn't play that way. The strings need to be bowed between the bridge and the neck. You have thought some idiot in production would have known that. It's not rocket science!

Bank robbery, prison escape, FBI on the tail, solid dialogues n a fictional character more sadistic than the pig Mengele.

This episode is thrilling. It has a bank robbery, a prison escape n the FBI agent trying to connect the dots between Nazis, Holocaust survivors n our very own Meyer Offerman.

It has some very good dialogues. "It is not that the good guys always have to choose to do the right thing. It's that choosing to do the right thing makes them the good guys."

"All fortunes r unsavory. Ther is not a dollar on this earth that doesn't have a lil dirt on it. Ther is a difference between dirt n blood. Blood always leaves a stain, whether u can see it or not."

One of the token (the ring) has a solid story.

Ther is also a fictional character of a Nazi doctor more cruel n sadistic than Joseph Mengele. In my review of Schindler's List, I had asked for Mengele's head so that I can play football.

Brilliant script

After the previous episodes slow pace and boring storyline this episode was fun and enjoyable. The script this episode was full of memorable one liners and witty comebacks. The storyline this episode moved at a faster pace and I thoroughly enjoyed it

The Pious Thieves

The pace has been all over the place in Hunters. It is better here as it culminates in a bank heist as the team look for the contents of a bank deposit box.

Instead they find heirlooms that each have a story to tell. One of them is a young man Jakob Schneider who received a ring from his dying mother which he swallowed to hide it from the Nazis. Jakob planned to give it to a woman he fell in love with in the concentration camp. However when his escape plan is foiled, the guard who killed him takes the ring.

Meyer plays a game of cat and mouse with the Swiss bank manager Frederic Hauser who wants to keep the bank's secrets.

FBI agent Millie wants to speak to Jonah. He is still in shock after the murder of his friend but Millie hears about Meyer and he peaks her interest.

The heist was clever and well staged, it even referenced Dog Day Afternoon. It also made clever use of flashbacks with another character introduced who might have a major part to play.

So at the end of last one Jonah's buddy bravely sacrificed himself for no reason. And we begin here in Auschwitz again with forbidden plans being made!!!

Really the cast of this show is pretty awesome.

+1 Star for the scene with Denethor and Pacino.

+1 Star for Jakob sacrificing himself to get his GF out of Auschwitz

+1 Star for Biff, the best character in the show, and Dottie

-1 Star for the Guards falling for the janitor spilling the mopbucket trick. Yeah among other things....

Haha Jonah saves China's ass.

Wow, -1 Star for the very elaborately hidden but very EASILY OPENED, secret door

Bahahaha. When I see Saul Rubinek standing in front of a warehouse full of Nazi Loot, I totally got a WAREHOUSE 13 FLASHBACK.

And then Denethor with confronted with the Bank Horde of Dead Jew loot he has, he offs himself.

Reminds me sort of of the plot similar to THE INSIDE MAN. But they wouldn't just steal random plot points from a movie now would they? The Fake Bank Vault Wall? Leading to hidden LOOT kept by a NAZI? Nah.

6/10.

Bank robbery!!

2 our of 5 stars

The episode continues with a slow moving direction. Kind of boring. As they discover something in a bank vault. With secrets of what happened in the past.
