When Dan finds "Lucifer's brand" of cigarette, the name on the side reads "MERVEILLE". Merveille is French and means wonder, miracle, prodigy, or marvel. This is a prop made for the show. There is a Dutch cigar brand called Merveille, but no cigarettes.
When Lucifer, Decker and Ella are in the lab discussing the golden gun and the hitman Ponyboy, Lucifer exclaims "Stay gold indeed". Lucifer is referencing the 1983 movie The Outsiders (1983) and the S.E. Hinton book of the same name it is based on. "Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold." is a quote from both.
Episode director is Richard Speight Jr., who plays the angel Gabriel, one of Lucifer's brothers on Supernatural (2005).
References to the Hulk. Chloe describes Lucifer's behavior in Tiernan's office as "hulking out". In a later scene, Lucifer's movements mimic those of the Hulk from The Incredible Hulk (1978), complete with arms akimbo and a sideways leap down from a height shot from low camera angles.
While in the lab discussing the possibility of a golden gun Lucifer makes reference to "Scaramanga" & a "third nipple". Scaramanga is a James Bond villain from "The Man With The Golden Gun". He had a golden gun & a third nipple.
