The armored car has no dead bodies inside. Jackie and Ward watch the water gush out the back. Jackie says infamous lawyer Roy Cohn was a genius. They continue to chat as the cops pour over the truck. Rachel makes sarcastic comments about Jackie's information. Leaving, Jackie tries to call Jimmy, who is driving south with loud music, and a car full of helium balloons.
Jackie then goes to see Jimmy's parents, who try to be polite but unhelpful. The cop makes veiled threats then notices a photo of granddaughters and a Miami address on the fridge door. Jackie leaves taking a teacup.
In church Jenny Rohr is introduced to Father Doyle, a recent transfer in from Ireland. Both priests listen as Jenny explains her marriage and sex problems. The older priest counsels patience and forgiveness, Jenny doesn't buy it but the priest says she should look at herself more than blaming her husband.
Det. Minogue is assigned to Captain Lewis to investigate the church shooting, neither is happy about it. Rohr then saunters in to talk about Ward and the Grand Jury, asking for the uniform cops to support Ward. Lewis says nobody wants a law and order black guy.
Ward and his boss Dey argue about the Grand Jury. Dey is puzzled about the Kinicki angle.
Frankie Ryan bandages his hand, he cut himself at work. Cathy is upset Jimmy is missing and the FBI was at the parents' house. Frankie suspects Jimmy is going to Florida to see his kids. Frankie wants to have sex but Cathy is on her period and not in the mood. Then she worries about the money and rushes to the washroom to count the cash behind the medicine cabinet. It's all there, but she wonders where Jimmy got money to travel with.
Det. Minogue shows Ward a murdered dead body, claiming the man was the church shooter. Ward doesn't believe it.
Rohr calls a Miami FBI agent he knows to visit Jimmy's ex, Corrie Struthers. The other cop eventually agrees.
Ward notices Rachel working late, she says she lives with her parents. Ward needs another witness for his Grand Jury.
Minogue asks Rev. Fields and Siobhan for more info on the shooting. Neither is helpful, Minogue gets angry.
Cathy goes to see her mother-in-law. The women bicker about Kick and Jimmy and their relative parenting skills.
Rachel spies on Sheik Sheehan, one of Frankie's gang.
Kick watches her dad Frankie fix the medicine cabinet. He kisses her lovingly.
Ward and Siobhan have breakfast. Rev. Fields has written a negative op-ed piece in the morning paper. Siobhan tells him to relax about Fields, she needs him for her Genesis Coalition.
Jackie is at the free clinic where the doctor tells Rohr he doesn't have herpes. Jackie then realizes his mother-in-law Rosa pranked him. At home he calls her out on it.
Captain Lewis visits Ward with the newspaper. Lewis is angry Fields is stirring up the anti-police rhetoric, Fields has many enemies in the cops.
Jenny visits an old friend Sue. Sue suggests a therapist or to get a job, perhaps go back to being a teacher.
Siobhan meets with Fields and suggests some change in his tactics, to nuance his message. She didn't like his "house nigger" comment about her husband.
Minogue sees witness Kayla on the street, she suggests she has info on Rev. Fields.
Rachel shows Hank Signe her file on Sheehan, he has a violent crime background and alcohol problems starting from the date of Kinicki's disappearance. Signe says they need a batter connection to Kinicki.
Granny Rosa calls upstairs to Jenny, handsome young Father Doyle has come to see her. They have coffee, Doyle apologizes for the meeting the other day. She wonders how she can start over again, he supplies some guidance.
Ward and Siobhan dress up for dinner with her mixed marriage parents. The parents are a little worried about Rev. Fields and talk about future grand-kids.
Rachel goes undercover to an AA meeting and chats to Sheehan. Sheehan mentions a friend of his went missing and is presumed dead.
Jenny sees Jackie sleeping on the sofa with empty beer bottles. He had smashed Rosa's Red Baron model plane.
Cathy Ryan calls Miami to warm Corrie that Jimmy may be coming. Struthers is alarmed to hear Jimmy is missing and may be on his way. The FBI visit Corrie looking for Jimmy.
Ward and Rachel explain that Sheehan is a witness in the Kinicki case. Ward is secretive about another informant, Rachel then realizes Ward is not being honest with the judge.
Jenny and Jackie dress in their bedroom, she wonders why he is upset with her mother, he doesn't say. She tells him she wants to go back to teaching, he puts her down referring to their party hearty daughter.
Ward explains to a Grand Jury the mechanics of the upcoming proceedings, there will be no judge and both he and the jurors can ask questions. He makes an emotional appeal for them to contribute to the judicial process despite what is in the media, and to bring closure to the Kinicki family.
Jimmy arrives at Corrie's house in Miami, his ex Is not happy to see him. The FBI arrives, Jimmy tries to escape but is taken down in the backyard. In jail, arrested for possession, he uses his one call to phone Jackie Rohr. Jackie is amused to have caught Jimmy and will let him sit for awhile.
