Really good
ronen-peleg13 April 2019
Not sure what others are moaning about. Thought the first episode was fantastic and really clever in how it was set up - reminded me a bit of Memento

pretty good. Feels like early ' the walking dead'
adamcomito12 April 2019
Only one other guy commented so far so I thought i'd add some information. I only finished the first episode so far but it's decent. Has that early 'the walking dead' feel about it.

If you watch lots of zombie stuff you know they are mostly quite poor in the execution. But this one seems promising, looks like a decent budget and pretty fast-moving so far. Also not too heavy on the dialogue /drama which dragged down 'the walking dead' in the later episodes.

Edit* I've sat through the whole season and sadly it gets worse as the show progresses. It's still worth a watch for a zombie fix but it's like a poor man's walking dead. Has some really bad plot holes like why is the power still on after All this time. Why is every shop and house unlocked. No one has weapons for about half the show and when they finally do get guns they all shoot at the same time all over the body wasting soo many bullets. Surely everyone knows by now only head shots work on zombies. And also how quickly society seems to go into crazy marauding factions, weeks like its only been a week so far and everyone has gone mad Max out there.

By the last two episodes I didn't really care who or what the characters were doing I just wanted to see the end. It's fine it's just not that good. Could of been half decent with a bit more attention to detail.

A solid start
ammodias8 June 2019
I found this to be a solid start, well paced and introduced the main characters in a different way to most programs. There werea few things that irked me such as the army coming across as powerhungry idiots from the start and they all seemed to be the same age no signs of seniority but that's a small thing that doesn't really detract from the solidity of the premiere.

That one soldier with learning difficulties...
donttouchmeprimate24 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I mean, why choose him to watch a lifetime criminal?? There were three of them, sure I understand that they wouldn't trust him not to mess things up if watching their back, or maybe they just don't like him, but if they honestly thought that Spears (the criminal) not to have gotten himself out of this sticky situation, then they were as dumb as this stupid soldier. I mean, Spears "tricked" this supposedly well trained soldier of fortune with the old "hey, I need a pee, can I use the bog"?

Other than this, the rest of the episode was solid, will continue watching.

Better than fear the walking dead
eberkerbatur9 May 2019
I think there will be a nice zombie series over time, but at least the walking dead may not be as beautiful as it is, but it's definitely a much better range than fear the walking dead. first section of the characters introduced us first so we can actually say it was a transition section. The first episode that I enjoyed very clearly passed very fast, only some scenes were very ridiculous. the girl in a hat turned into a zombie and I did not like the scene after all the realistic never seemed like a crazy person running around the scenes did not like the scenes at all

Wow
grynkewichjustin4 July 2021
This show takes the overused premise of a zombie apocalypse and turns it into something new and refreshing! The cinematography, production design, and acting is great - and I can't wait to see more.

Intense
loversofmovies7 April 2020
Wow, I'm only on E4 and I feel as if I'm also there. I really hope they keep this intensity up. My heart hasn't stop beating ever so fast.

My only 1 complaint is.....a really hot woman got killed WTF was they thinking ? That's right the woman who gets hit by the car. Did anyone noticed her body and face ? I can't believe that was her only contribution. What a shame 😢

Keep up the awesome work guys, I'm getting hooked already and Believe me it's not often that happens.

Boring
I was surprised how boring this was. You'd think a first episode of a zombie series would be compelling and draw the viewer in to want to see more, but after this episode was over, I had no desire to go any further.

The characters are uninteresting which is a huge strike against it. I didn't care what happened to any of them and a first episode needs to make the viewer relate or care for the characters being introduced.

There's a whole lot of running around in the same 2 block radius of some cookie cutter neighborhood. The survivors were supposed to have walked a lot of miles, but you can see the same burnt out police car in the background sitting in the same position as the neighborhood they were supposedly in earlier. At least TRY and make the background scenery look different when they go to a new place!

Then there's a girl who gets hit by a car and turns into a zombie LOL. No one bit her so how did she turn all zombie just from getting hit by a minivan?! It made no sense. Everyone knows you have to be bitten by a zombie to turn into one. Not get hit by cars in the street!

There's a guy being held hostage with his hands in cuffs in front of him, yet he needs help lifting a toilet seat and his idiot captor walks over to oblige instead of saying " You can open it yourself"....or better yet, just let him pee in his pants. He's a hostage, what do you care if his pants get wet?!

Of course it's just ridiculous setup for the hostage to overcome the captor when he walks over to lift the toilet seat.

I know it's a zombie show and I shouldn't expect realism, but I expect a little common sense from the characters and not to see people turn into zombies just from getting hit by cars. Dumb dumb dumb.

I see it's been cancelled after the second season so it's already been put out of it's misery. I'll give it 2 stars for the laughs it supplied.

Idk why Netflix gave this a 98% match for me
Faith-Gibbs4 July 2021
I watched the first 21 minutes and 52 seconds before I was bored out of my mind. I stopped 15 minutes in because I wondered if a lot of people like it or if they felt the same way. I am not sure if this is a slow start show or what. But I can't even see myself finishing the first episode even if I was super bored and this was the only thing to watch.

Whats with the fake Army?
jimhaney-1222411 April 2019
No name tape on the back of their PC (hats) full beards on half of them. PFCs and PVTs that look 35 years old?

Unrealistic behaviors
qboyreplica5 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Barely got through the first section "Rose" 1. If you know where the rendezvous point is why would you not stay closer to it (like where they returned to after getting turned away).

2. They obviously know a bite is bad and why (husband is keeping it secret and army is checking eyes), so if Rose really loved her daughter why would she not have split up from her husband prior to getting turned away. The husband would have been cool with it, just as we see play out afterwards.

3. They are taking shelter because of an outside threat, so why is she going around the kitchen slamming cabinets and then when she hears a noise she is yelling her husbands name. Exactly what you wouldn't do with an mysterious danger lurking.

4. Husband turns into a zombie and chases her but she still calls his name as if she doesn't understand or still sees the humanity in him as he tries to bite her, but yet as soon as a stranger shoots and kills him, she hugs the stranger. It's a little contradictory.

-Ryan-

1. The Korean lady obviously knows there is danger going on around them so again, why is she yelling and not stealthy at all?

-Barbara-

1. She clearly states she knows about the dangers, so why does she entertain a complete stranger when she has a clear objective.

2. Out of all the scenes so far, this lone character (even though more clearly understanding the threat) is by the the most calm and collected, further muddling the consistency in the shows overall behavioral tone.

-Lance-

1. I thought it was going to be about Lance, but nice change of pace to a very humanized zombie that gives up easily, at best tapping and pounding on things in an attempt to overcome obstacles.

-Spears-

1. It's the end of the world, and the military is "scared" as they've said a couple times now, so why is the army (gov) concerned about one random individual and "millions" of dollars? Seems a little frivolous.

2. If the army was so concerned about a single individual during the end of the world, when rules don't apply. Why not just have the pee his pants in order to eliminate any potential risks.

3. The guy can figure out how to pee but not open a toilet seat? That's when the army guy steps in to help, The characters reactions are incredibly inconsistent.

-Checkpoint- 1. People are revolting against the army, but as soon as they're through the gate, Rose declares she's in a group with Spears (even though he's wearing an "army" uniform) no questions asked.

Slow, painfully slow
sterhill-120 January 2022
Ok we know this is a zombie movie. In this episode, we get to meet a few people and watch them walk and walk and walk and sometimes run. Mostly we watch them walk. Boring. Well filmed though. Ok if you have a good fast forward where you can see what's happening.
