The son's a misogynistic jerk, the mom is a pathetic doormat and where do we go from here. What a waste of the wonderful Kathryn Hahn.

Based on a novel. Mrs Fletcher is a single mother who works in a care home. Her son has left for college. Now alone, she explores internet pornography as a skinny MILF.
Kathryn Hahn is Eve Fletcher in this dramedy. We see her being used as a doormat. At work one elderly resident watches porn in front of all the other residents.
At home, she packed for her son who did not lift a finger. In fact her son, Brendan (Jackson White) is a Grade A jerk. A bully who treats women in a shallow manner.
What is billed as a daring comedy. I thought the first episode was not funny and rather tame despite Brendan doing jerky things.
I guess future episodes will explore both Eve's loneliness and daring. At the end we see her flirting in front of a teenager in an essay class. The same teenager who has been bullied by Brendan in high school.
