family fare
A message oriented poignant drama. Suhasini is simplicity personified in this picture without much make up or wigs. PP is a petty thief without any income stream of his own. Along with his friend Dilip , he picks pockets and makes his living . He meets Suhasini during a robbery and falls in love with her . He lies to her about his profession. She too falls for him slowly . She lives with her uncle ( Cho ) A couple of duets later , he tells her the truth. She refuses to relent saying she will still love him and he has to redeem himself. Find a job and stop stealing . He agrees but faces many hurdles in finding an honest job. But he keeps doing odd bits and bobs . When his friend Dilip falls sick, he steals again for his surgery and is thrashed in public . Cho ( who is aware of his wrong doings ) drags Suhasini to Yercaud to forget PP without his knowledge . Slowly PP redeems and finds a proper job . He is sent to Yercaud for some business and meets Suhasini. Meanwhile the estate manager Ratheesh is attracted to her as both are lonely and keeps trying to propose to her . She is about to accept his proposal egged on by her uncle . She sees a redeemed PP and changes her mind . They are both united despite her uncle's protests and all ends well. The last ending is sad when he dies trying to nab some petty thieves . The side cast of Vanitha as the young wife of an ageing land lord Venniradai Murthy evokes some laughs . PP invokes a lot of sympathy as a waylaid youth . Ratheesh as a forlorn confused lover invokes a lot of empathy .Over all. A fine family movie .
