This is the music video for the song "Look What I Found" from the Oscar-winning movie "A Star is Born". So unsurprisingly, you see a lot of Bradley Cooper here and even more Lady Gaga. The one you hear singing here is only the latter. At minimally over 3 minutes, it is a rather short music video and the release was 2018. Maybe withotut Shallow dominating all the awards, some other songs from the film could have scored a bit of attention too and this could have been a contender. However, I think it is appropriate it did not. Sure I am writing this as somebody who is not exactly a great Lady Gaga fan, but the lyrics are very simple, not to say shallow (no pun intended). It seems as if the song is never really sure what it wants to achieve soundking lighter most of the time and then tries to be deeper all of a sudden on 2 or 3 occasions. needless to say, it is an unsuccessful account. Also as always, Gaga does not succeed in getting the emotional gravity in here. Even when she tries, it is rather loud than touching and that is a common problem I got with her, even if admittedly, she looks the most attractive I think I have ever seen her on A Star is Born. As for the video side, it is mostly a disappointment too. A highlight reel from the film and that is basically all. Every fan with some editing talent could have done it and the moments early on and very late that were added for the music video to at least have something new in it are not enough to make up for all the mediocrity. So not a must watch by any means. If you still want to go for it, the record may be enough as the video is really completely forgettable. Overall, a thumbs-down from me. Not recommended and only worth checking out for the very biggest ASiB fans.
