Rabbi Bengelsdorf's knowledge of Judah P. Benjamin's life is shaky. Most of what is said is factual except where the Rabbi states Benjamin was a Senator from South Carolina. Prior to first becoming the Confederacy's Attorney General, Benjamin was a U. S. Senator from Louisiana, not South Carolina. Bengelsdorf's claim that Benjamin was the most powerful man in the Confederacy after President Jefferson Davis is debatable.
