Sparks' voice-over narration saying he never wanted to be in charge of three divisions, just a rifle company in Oklahoma. A lieutenant colonel might in charge of three battalions, and sometimes a regiment, but divisions are led by major generals (two stars). Three divisions would count as a corps strength, led by a lieutenant general (three stars).
While marching down the street a toy shop is shown with a wooden helicopter in the window. Helicopters were still under development in WWII and the body style of the toy was not built until after the war.
