Shōgun: The Abyss of Life (2024)
Season 1, Episode 8
10/10
What. An. Episode. Wow. Just wow.
9 April 2024
This episode's level of intrigue and subtlety about what's going on and what's going to happen is just off the charts.

Each and every one of the actors and actresses needed to give a 10 out of 10 performance to make the storyline believable to the audience and boy, they delivered all right.

This is the first time in a loooong time that I mumble phrases like "What have you done?", "Oh my god", "Ah Jesus...." when I am watching a television series or movie.

It is unbelievable television and I am actually sad that it has only 2 more episodes left.

Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, can we get a second season, please?

Pretty please?

Oh, and to reviewer "osloj", after 8 episodes, you still do not understand why each character did what he/she did and also, Japanese culture in general?

Really... ?

I urge you to read "episode recap" articles for this Shogun episode and maybe, re-read your own review after that.

Hopefully, you would then realize how embarrassing your review really is.

Tokyo Vice: Consequences (2024)
Season 2, Episode 9
10/10
The title of this episode should be "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".
28 March 2024
This is probably one of the best episodes yet from Tokyo Vice.

All the performances from the actors, even the cameo ones are magnificent.

The storylines are starting to merge together and we're seemingly moving into one big explosion of a climax soon.

I cannot wait for this season to end. Not because I dislike Season 2, but because right now, I am brimming with anxiety and anticipation, wanting to know how all of these stories come to an end this season.

And having said that, I really really hope they renew this for Season 3 (if there's some story left in it), or make a spin-off off of it. Seeing how Japanese streaming shows are making headway right now with the momentum generated by Alice in Borderland, Tokyo Vice etc... and lately, by Shogun, Tokyo Vice should ride this momentum and create a spin-off.

But, one can only hope.

10/10.

The story and dialogue get cringier and cringier as each episode passes by
10 June 2023
Where do I start.

This show has become a burden to complete. It would be much more interesting to read the transcripts of this episode rather than watching it on the screen.

The supporting actors are once again, terrible.

Shrike trying to be stoic just doesn't work and she comes off as childish and annoying.

Wren, unfortunately, seems to have only 3 or 4 facial expressions in her repertoire.

The dialogue is... eugh... "It's too dangerous..."

Really? *roll eyes*

Thank goodness this is the last season.

And I would also like to thank to whomever invented the "increase playback speed" feature.

Thank you, sir/madam.

You deserve to be honored by all "Fear The Walking Dead" fans, or whatever's left of them.

Ugh....
12 May 2023
My goodness. The acting and dialogue are atrocious. Thank goodness this is the last season.

Right now, I am just watching this for the sake of completion.

It's just getting more and more cringey and non-sensical as each episode passes by.

The child actors cannot act and emote.

The older actors couldn't be bothered anymore and they only seem to do this one last season not because they still wanna do this show, but more because they are contracted to do it.

Hopefully no spin-off show springs from this one, because even inserting popular characters from the original Walking Dead cannot save it.

I am so happy that this is its last season.

The Rookie: Double Trouble (2023)
Season 5, Episode 18
2/10
Dear Mr. Hawley & Mr. Fillion
23 March 2023
I don't think you read IMDb reviews for your episodes, but if you do, please read this one.

Please stop making documentary-type episodes like this.

Just, please.

As a huge fan of the show from the very beginning, please stop.

I beg you.

I naively thought that after the miserable ratings for the previous documentary-type episodes, I would never see an episode like that ever again.

I was wrong.

It is not a good way to convey the humour, action and drama of the episode's storyline.

It actually cheapens it a bit. What could have been a great storyline for an episode, was ruined.

So therefore, please. I beg you guys. Stop it.

The Rookie: Feds (2022–2023)

Mr. .Hawley, what are you doing....
18 October 2022
I would like to say first of all that I really really really really like The Rookie, even when some subplots started to give the show a bit of a.... disjointed feeling around 1-2 seasons ago.

Therefore, I was excited to see that there is a spin-off coming off of it and it intrigued me enough to wanna watch it when it premieres.

However, 3 episodes into the first season, I've had enough.

The main character is annoying and extremely nosy about other people's personal lives. I believe she's meant to be portrayed as caring, but I've lost count on how many times I said "Oh ffs, shut the eff up and leave him/her alone" whenever she tries to dig up her colleague's personal problems.

And I just roll my eyes every time I hear her say, "When I was a school counselor..." And I am not in law enforcement, but I am pretty sure that there is a dress code that would prevent someone from showing that much cleavage in a federal office environment.

The premise is really good, but the casting for the main character and the dialogue are just... poor.

3 stars because it kept me interested for 3 episodes.

Fear the Walking Dead: Amina (2022)
Season 7, Episode 15
1/10
It's getting tiresome for me, watching this series.
24 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I cannot believe they are reusing the same trope over and over and over again in this show.

Static crackling on the talkie just when the conversation is getting interesting.

Alicia fainting and waking up repeatedly. I rolled my eyes every time it happened.

The kid's acting leaves a lot to be desired. Her dialogue delivery is... monotone.

Ofelia died before reuniting with her dad.

John Dorie died just before his dad came into the show.

And now the same thing with Madison and Alicia.

Unbelievable.

It's really getting tiresome and this is the first time that I have actually considered quitting this show. But I have invested too much already and I really want to stick to this show until the end. So episodes after this one will definitely be tortuous for me if things keep going on like this.

If the writers are reading this... guys, what are you doing?

Korean slapstick comedy
8 March 2022
If you don't like Korean slapsticks, then this one is not for you.

Me? I love it and cannot stop giggling throughout the movie.

Good sword fighting actions, good comedic dialogues and slapstick acting.

A lot of people who don't like this and gave it a low rating, most probably do not understand and/or like Korean slapstick comedies.

A great light-comedy and a little anachronistic pirate movie that gives you good entertainment if you have time to kill for 2 hours.

Heartwarming comedy at its best.

Love how all the stories came together as a single message in the end.

A story about Freddie, because it's the only one worth telling
3 November 2018
Let's face it, the only interesting life story out of the 4 members of the band is Freddie's and naturally, it's the only one that is told in pretty much 90% of the movie. The movie does mess up the real life events in terms of chronology, but considering that this is a movie and not a TV series, Freddie's story is too short to be told in 134 minutes. But it's enough there to make Queen fans like me realize how much we miss Freddie and his voice, although for the latter, Marc Martel's voice does soothe our need to hear Freddie somewhat. I am not a movie critic or a bot (feel free to check my IMDb profile which says that I've been a user for 19 years), but at the end of the day, there is only one feeling that matters when you step out of the theater and that is, did that movie entertain you? And I have to say, yes.... yes it did.

Young Sheldon (2017–2024)

What are you guys complaining about?
12 November 2017
I think it's a funny show. Every episode, there are moments that would make giggle. Always. I think that you would not enjoy this if you're single and haven't had (or not planning to have) a kid. But if you do, you'd understand on why Young Sheldon is funny to people like me. Don't just watch the first episode, give it a few more and then you decide. I for one, love it!

A roller coaster of a movie, not in a good way
31 May 2017
First of all, I'd like to point out that I have done reviews before and therefore, rest assured that I am not a bot, which now made me suspicious of all the good reviews that have been written for this movie prior to its worldwide release. This movie is a hot mess. I went in with high expectations after reading all the reviews praising this movie. At the end of the first act (you'll know which one I'm talking about when you see the movie), it felt that the movie should have stopped right there and probably leave Ares to a sequel or something. But no, it slowed down and then moved on to the next villain. And when you think it's over, another villain slapped you in the face and made me think, "oh yeah, there's another one that they haven't addressed yet". In total, this movie has 3 climaxes, all arguably equal in terms of power and and at the end of the movie, it is similar to the feeling of stepping off a nauseating roller coaster ride with dramatically steep ups and downs in terms of the pacing of the movie. I would also like to point out that I am not a comic book reader but an avid moviegoer and therefore, no... I am not a Marvel fanboy which many people would say biased my opinion. I want to go to a movie to feel entertained and sorry to say, this movie did not entertain me.

Game of Thrones + Lord of the Rings story lines with Snatch + Lock Stock dialogues and editing
11 May 2017
Will keep it short and simple. If you don't get/understand the (British) humour (i.e you don't think the jokes are funny), dialogue and fast "flashbacky" editing style presented in Lock Stock and Snatch, you will hate this movie. Easy as that. For us who understand what constitutes a Ritchie movie will be more likely than not, like the movie.

The Medallion (2003)
One of Jackie Chan's worst movie
14 November 2003
i never commented on any film before... but this movie is so baaaaaaad.... i can't help but to comment on it.... this is Jackie Chan's crappiest movie... horrible fighting scenes, crappy love story, bloody lee evans and the one thing i really can't stand is that Jackie actually used WIRES for his stunts and fighting scenes ( which he never did on his previous film, but i don't know about Tuxedo because i haven't watched it yet ). I can't emphasize this enough... HE USED WIRES FOR HIS FIGHTING SCENES!!! he even used wires for jumping a bloody low fence!! i don't know what was he thinking when he agreed on using those wires.... it is really not like the Jackie Chan i know in the movies... he never used wires for his movies... some of the stunts he performed on films like Rumble in the Bronx, Operation Condor and Accidental Spy and many of his other movies make perfect sense...but the stunts in this movie are absolutely crap... i'm really disappointed on the this movie...

The Patriot (2000)
10/10
A Brilliant Masterpiece
11 October 2000
Bravo, bravo...one of the best movie ever created. The storyline is excellent, the acting is marvelous, and the directing is incredible. The Patriot is the second movie that can make me sob. It's true. And i love the acting of Mel Gibson and Jason Isaacs. Mel's acting ability is better on war movies e.g BraveHeart. And Jason Isaacs, one of few actors that can make me hate him as the Bad Guy. I know it's not me because when Col. William Tavington(Jason Isaacs) was shot by Gabriel(Heath Ledger), somebody is the audience cheered "YES!". And what more can I say, I would've given it an 11.

This is the best movie I've ever seen!
30 August 1999
This movie has more comedy than action scenes...this movie is really good. One of Brendan Fraser's best movie. The story line is so good that makes it not a simple movie nor a complicated movie. In conclusion, this movie is the best.
