Invasion (2005–2006)
Unique Television That Takes Unexpected Turns
21 February 2006
I'm not sure what show Charles Hall was watching but it wasn't Invasion. This is purely eerie, original television. Each twist and turn of the plot takes you to places you weren't expecting but are eager to follow. The writing, acting and entire production are first-rate and refreshing. The reviews out there (including magazines such as Entertainment Weekly) agree with me. The problem with this show isn't the show, its cast, crew or anything other than the network. The "powers that be" at the network have done an abysmal job promoting it and keep yanking it from the line-up every time it gets momentum going. So just as fans are getting into the story and are anticipating the next week, they are disappointed with either a rerun or another show that they did not want to see. ABC needs to give the show a real chance. If they did, they would be pleasantly surprised at the audience it would build.

Sally Jessy Raphael (1983–2002)
Zhu Has It All Wrong
11 May 2002
Zhu didn't see the show at its best. Sally has been on longer than most other talk shows and is sadly being removed from the air now due to the fact that she can't and **won't** stoop to the sideshow tactics used by others in the business. The fact is that when she isn't force to do sensationalist shows, she shows a great deal of heart and tackles major issues. She does great celebrity interviews and has a wonderful sense of honor. I, for one, will truly miss her and wish her luck. Hopefully she will find her way back onto television again in the near future.

Dirty Dancing (1988–1989)
I liked it better than the movie
4 January 2001
This series kind of missed its window of opportunity - but it didn't help that it was scheduled where it's target audience was sure to miss it. I actually liked it better than the movie. I thought the writing was better and the acting in many ways was better. I thought Patrick Cassidy had a better feel of who Johnny Castle was than his movie counterpart. All in all, I thought the series had a better feel for the characters and period. It's a shame it never found an audience.

Too Bad It Didn't Become A Series
4 January 2001
This was supposed to be a series pilot and it is a real shame it didn't sell. I was actually on location with Mr. Cassidy when the golf course sequence was filmed and really loved this movie when it was shown on NBC. There was some great writing involved and fantastic chemistry between Mr. Cassidy, Mr. Hemmings and Mr. Young. Even the score was well-done (and I usually don't notice those things).

Take it for what it is
4 January 2001
Okay, it's not Shakespeare but it is a basic teen TV movie. Yes, a lot of the witchcraft references could be considered highly inaccurate - but it was a lot of fun to watch. It was kind of a predecessor to today's Buffy the Vampire Slayer -- in fact I can see traces of the story line in Buffy!
