The Wind in the Willows (1984)
Delightful
This series remains true to the spirit of the original with further adventures of Toad and companions. The stop motion animation is quite beautifully rendered and the production values are in every way superb. Pastoral, funny, utterly charming; adults will enjoy this as much as children. This series can be purchased as a boxed set featuring four separate videos, with stories set in each season. Those of you who have enjoyed "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and the Wallace and Gromit films have a treat in store. By the way, Peter Sallis (Wallace) provides the voice of Ratty.
The Wind in the Willows (1983)
Superb
The stop motion animation is simply wonderful, the characters exquisitely rendered, the actors delightful, the script true to the spirit of the original. This will be enjoyed on different levels by both children and adults. It is decidedly NOT merely for children, anymore than "The Nightmare Before Christmas." This is a beautiful and timeless production that deserves to live forever.
Les enfants du paradis (1945)
Enter another world
Richly deserving of its status as one of the greatest films ever made, it has been called the Gone With The Wind of art films. Seeing this film is an experience never to be forgotten and certainly impossible to describe. It will stay with you forever, more as if you'd lived it than merely seen it on a screen.
