Vertical Limit (2000)
Non-stop action rollercoaster...
Check your brain at the door for this one, and strap yourself in. The opening sequence will give you a good indication of what you're in for. There were times when I found myself longing for a break. When the closing credits rolled, I felt as though I had just completed a workout at the gym.
Unfortunately the plot and a lot of the mountain climbing facts were significantly short changed. Still, Vertical Limit was a heck of a ride.
Midnight Tease II (1995)
About as realistic as it gets.
The plot's irrelevant, really. It serves the purpose - which is to provide a framework for the eye candy.
What this movie does really well is to realistically depict a strip club atmosphere. Most movies get it all wrong... Extravagant costumes, Vegas style lighting, and elaborately choreographed dance routines. The only thing questionable about the club in MT2 was the fact that every gal is drop dead gorgeous...
The lead actress does a nice job with her role (outside of the dancing), and I'm surprised she hasn't done more with her career.
The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000)
Blame the script/screenplay - not the acting.
Love Hewitt was fine in this made for TV movie. Obviously the role is a big step up from anything she's attempted in the past, and I thought she did well. The accent, while not dead on - and a tad uneven, was still impressive. I also was impressed with Hewitt's "look". All in all, a significant step forward for the young actress.
Where this film suffered was in the way it told Hepburn's story. It's basically a documentary, but you felt dragged along rather than compelled to watch.
