Northwest Hounded Police (1946)
classic, funny as heck
This is one of the funniest cartoons I have ever seen. This cartoon contains some of my favorite gags used in cartoons, from the sign at Mountie HQ (Mounty County. "We aim to police"), to Sgt. McPoodle (Droopy) notifying the wolf he's on his trail with Burma-Shave style signs, to the wolf running out of the movie frame. Truly deserved of its spot among the greatest cartoons ever made.
Deputy Droopy (1955)
an adequate remake
Much the same as Rabbit Rampage was to Duck Amuck, this is an inferior, yet somewhat enjoyable, remake of Rock-a-Bye Bear, made by the same animator as the original. Still, this one has Droopy, who is one of my favorite characters of all time.
Rock-a-Bye Bear (1952)
one of my favorite cartoons
This is, in my opinion, one of the best cartoons ever made, and a semi-classic. The cartoon has such a simple premise, however, Tex Avery is able to carry it off successfully for the length of a 7 minute cartoon. Definitely one of my favorite of all time.
What's Opera, Doc? (1957)
One word: Classic
This is one of the greatest cartoons ever made. When many experts in the field of animation got together a few years ago to list the 50 greatest cartoons ever made, this one ended up at number 1. Watching this cartoon, it's easy to see why they ranked it at the top. It's a classic. Everyone knows this one, especially the scene with Elmer Fudd, Spear in hand, magic helmet on head, singing "kill the wabbit!"
Duck Amuck (1953)
a true classic
This is one of the pinnacles of animation. I also think it is the best Daffy Duck cartoon ever made. Who else but Chuck Jones could take such a simple premise (Daffy being tormented by an unseen animator) and sustain an entire 7-minute cartoon with it?
