Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000)
A very good and horrifying film!
I recently saw this film on VHS, and I thought it was SO good, that I went out to go and buy on DVD for $35! Call me stupid, but I thought this was a very good movie with very few, if any, flaws. The death scenes were scary and creative ("kidney heist" and "cinema verite" were stand-outs), the actors and actresses were very good (especially Jenny Morrison and Loretta Devine [who always cracks me up as Reese]), and the story and killer's motive made a lot more sense than any of the SCREAM movies. And on top of everything else, this film contains many interesting and well-thought touches. All in all, I must say that this is a very good film that shouldn't disappoint any horror film buff.
PS- The ending is awesome and completely surprising!
The Dentist 2 (1998)
What where they thinking???
Believe me when I say this, this movie is absolutely horrible. It's gory and graphic and the scene with Bev and the Dentist is just way too disturbing for anyone I know to handle. It wasn't even scary! And they call themselves "HORROR producers"... If you have not seen this movie, take my advice and spend your $3 somewhere else!
October Sky (1999)
THIS MOVIE WAS FANTASTIC!!!
I thought that this movie was excellent!!! I was very well casted, written, filmed and directed. The kid who played "Homer" was amazing, and I am positive that great things will come to him!! The entire cast was incredible, as a matter of fact. This movie will most definately remain in my heart for a very, very long time! I don't know how I could ever forget it!!If you haven't seen this movie, you do not know what you are missing. Go Out and Rent It!!!!!!
The Shining (1997)
THE BEST HORROR MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those of you who have not seen "The Shining" for TV, I suggest that you find a way to see it this very instant. This movie was so terrific, it gave me chills. When it aired in 1997, I was slightly partial to taping it, seeing that I loved Stanley Kubrick's 1980 original so much. Then, once I saw the new one, I was GLAD that I taped it! To start off, this movie has an excellent cast!! All of the actors make the stars of the original one a distant (and irrelevant!) memory. Steven Weber takes on the role of Jack Torrance like I could have never imagined. His amazing performance should be highly praised!! Same goes for the rest of the cast, including Rebecca De Mornay (Great!), Courtland Mead (Astonishing!), Melvin Van Peebles (Wonderful!), and Wil Horneff (Excellent!) And, let's not forget John Durbin, Stanley Anderson, Frank Darabont, and Cynthia Garris. But, the REAL star of the movie is the Overlook Hotel (a.k.a. Stanley Hotel) itself! Its sinister presence in the movie is just simply terrifying! This movie is probably the best horror movie I've ever seen, considering how captivating and how well-done it was! Unfortunately, this movie is not available for home video yet. But, for those who have not seen it, I think you should rip and tear to see it, if it ever plays again on ABC. THIS MOVIE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
