Good - but language?
3 September 2023
Interesting plot and characters. I always enjoy the mysteries that have a historical element to them. Cold cases, unsolved disappearances, wrongful convictions. I have to say though - the language in the thing is exaggeratedly foul. Gratuitous use of the f-bomb. Coben didn't write that way. He didn't need to throw in excess bad language in order to make his point or create the mood of the scene. To me - not an informed critic - just an avid reader and viewer - it takes a LOT away from the show. The screenwriters make it sound like they can't write a sentence without using the word f--. Pretty disappointing.

Good show

I like it. Well written; well cast. I like the characters and the actors. His wife is cute and the actress does a compelling job. Can't wait to see her as a lawyer in action. I suspect she's maybe got more horsepower as an actress than the guy playing the title character. Glad I found the show. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the episodes. I'll include this here cause I didn't see a place for bloopers.... Noticed in Episode 3 when young Joey opens the Christmas gift and it's a rifle, the rifle is configured with a left hand bolt. Later in the episode when adult Joe pulls it out of the gun case it's a right-hand bolt. Oops.

A disaster of a war flick
4 June 2023
Honest to God, the WORST film I've seen in a long time. I felt so embarrassed for the actors because the script was idiotic. Not worth more comments. But I'm 180 characters short. Unrealistic, terribly written, incorrect weapons, incorrect uniforms, incorrect military courtesy - just an unmitigated disaster. Even the CGI wasn't consistent. Oh - and the voice recognition software was entertaining in its innaccuracy. The whole story line was ridiculous. The P51s we're returning from a mission at about 200 feet altitude- never happened. Then the pilot says they attacked the ME 262s - buts that not what happened.

Don't waste your 5.99.

Hunting

Yet another ignorant Hollywood portrayal of the American hunter. No safety training, no orange safety clothing,"stalking" by walking through the woods talking and waving their arms - in broad daylight. Sheesh.

Contrived

After watching 2-3 episodes I decided this must have been written by women, because the male teen characters are so shallow and contrived. They stereotype the (25 year olds playing 17 year old) boys as jocks (who can't take off their letterman jackets) and geeky guys. All are crazed with sex - the former oversexed and the latter frustrated. Throw in at least two scenes of masturbation so far and you have a bit of a skewed view of reality. Turns out there are some male writers. Surprised. Then when someone is shit and killed, the non-duly elected queen of the hive decrees that all guns shall be confiscated. Brilliant solution. We know we have a killer among us so let's take away everyone's capacity to defend themselves. This, my friends, was not written by anyone who grew up in a small town.
