Everything about her got under my skin so badly, my gf hates me for raging and swearing out loud at her terruble attitude, her bad decisions, and her bad acting. The other main characters are not enjoyable either. That's a pity because most of the supporting characters are amazing and should be enough as a topic.

Every bit of it hits you with amazing childhood memories. Watching it as an adult, you get to notice many dirty puns between Willy Wonka and Violet's mother almost explicit lol. The songs by the oompa lumpas are still pretty dull and useless though

Philip Seymour Hoffman's acting is just terrible. Terrible. The family drama is not bad in itself, but it just gives you the feeling that they keep piling up new atrocities to try to subjugate the viewer and save the movie... But it just doesn't work. The messy chronology is just pathetic. Doesn't bring anything. Just a wannabe plot effect . Some scenes you can see them coming from a mile away, sometimes it's just too much to take like the woman shooting Andy in the back in the middle of the pathetic brotherly confrontation. Last but not the least : am I the only one appalled by the father's finding a parking spot in front of every single building in NYC ?...
