El olvido que seremos (2020)
A film we needed to see
"El olvido que seremos" is a film with a particular feeling, highlighting the life of a man who fought for causes that are still of interest to the Colombian nation today. The way in which he approaches character development is appropriate and fits the Medellin's Society of the 70s and 80s, with an invaluable accuracy in the sets and costumes. The emotional relationship between shots and color to differentiate two different periods contribute to the greatness of the film, accompanied by good performances.
However, the film continues to depend on the original novel, and certain scenes do not have the same power that they surely have in the book and some errors in the editing that can be, rarely, stressful to the viewer, do not interfere with the fact that this film has a soul. , and very appropriate for our times.
Un tal Alonso Quijano (2020)
Could be better in every way
The story of this film could even be a good story, but here it was told in a poor and uninteresting way where the plots could have been better interwoven and better developed. The performances of the protagonists are excellent and are the most redeemable of the film, the others can improve.
Similarly, the Cinematography is simple with a bad camera handling and it makes the narration more difficult with a low quality imitation of the VHS look for past storytelling, cuts made late and even a sample of lack of professionalism, something forgivable for a first film but not for the third film by this director.
A certain Alonso Quijano is a forgettable movie in comparision to the wonderful cinema that is being born in Colombia.
Dirty Laundry (2020)
A good comedy full of movies references
Dirty Laundry is a short but entertaining story, which in turn is a tribute to the cinema of all time through its clever jokes that guide a natural path in conversation, a fun and absurd plot that maintains interest and offers excellent narration
La estrategia del caracol (1993)
The greatest reflection of what 'Colombia' means
The Snail's Strategy is, at least, one of the best productions that Colombian filmmaking has produced in recent times. It is the living example of Colombian society, its behaviors, attitudes and above all, the methodical way in which comedy tells a dramatical story, something so common in any Colombian life, in the film is retracted to perfection . And not only in the Colombian context, his narrative is applicable to many Latin American situations at the end of the 20th century. Highly recommended
