"People keep on telling me they know me. I am afraid know one does."
I was looking forward to this film so much ever since it was announced back in early 2019. I didn't really give it much notice, but simply knowing a release was enough for me.
Following the first and second installment in the series, the message and plot building rocked. I liked the action to develop and the battle that raged kept on going strong.
Now don't get me wrong, I loved the third film, and it didn't fall flat for me. I was hooked in the forty minutes of the movie though it did take a while. Of course the climax wouldn't come in until the end.
In the film, a lot of things happen that can shock you. Now mind you, this is marked for spoilers. Leia dies. Kylo Ren does NOT survive. The emperor is hidden in some "mysterious" location. Chu baca is taken prisoner. R2D2's friend memory is wiped out to translate a location written in Sith.
It is a long story. Perhaps the action could have been better, the fight scenes could have been better sequenced. I loved the darkness that took over, but it just never felt that INTENSE. However, there are some memorable scenes in here that I loved. The voices of the Jedi calling to Rey, Ray coming to terms with her identity, allies and friends coming together.
While all these ideas are all nice, they could have been performed better. Rey could have found here own home. The ending wasn't cliche but not exactly original either. I would say there is room for improvement. But most of all, I think at the heart- this film is more about believing in yourself. May the force be with you.
