Fool's Paradise (2023)
If you get the joke, this is a great film!
Most of the reviews are negative here and I truly think it's because most people will probably not be able to understand the true story they are telling here, at least on the first go.
Because if you do, this film has it's quirks and witty moments of expose' which are entertaining and even daring to explore.
To an extent, this is an allegory of life through the aperture of fame and wealth through filmmaking and Hollywood lifestyle (a film about film behind the scenes in real life and the juxtapose that comes with the irredeemable escape from our own life of imitation of art (and vice versa), what politics say and how society reacts and influences the outcomes of those just wanting to be people who just want to live and let live.
The only words of dialogue the main character says throughout the whole film are 'I love you too'. Because all the rest is pointless noise made by the world around who who are actually there for their own self.
Once you realize that, the story shifts quickly.
I truly felt I started to enjoy the film so much more once I understood what was actually being said, which only came towards the end of the film when wanting to find out already what is the story and the deal with our the main character and why he is this way.
Which doesn't get answered clearly for a reason.
This contemplation should send you thinking about what they actually intended to tell in a film that seems silly at times, but makes you question why, and delivers an allegory to the current state of reality we actually live in.
Good Luck.
Fortress: Sniper's Eye (2022)
Not gonna even watch this and review it
Seems Bruce Willis just went on a rampage of crappy films before he retired. Seems like he knew he'd be quitting films so he just made a bunch. 8 in 2021 and 10 films in 2022. That's got to be some kind of record.
Thanks for the other films Bruce, too bad you decided to end your legacy this way.
Eraser: Reborn (2022)
How dare you
How dare take a classic great film and make a new crap terrible version.
You can tell by the trailer this is a cheap knockoff. A hippo cannot be luggage.
No Schwarzenegger film can be replicated period.
Snitch (2013)
So it, we'll frame your son unless you cooperate with us and we don't care if you die.
Kind of how it is when he was explaining the whole cartel way of replacing runners as "mules". but kind of the same way the DEA were gonna free his son, who didn't really do anything. (they did not show him agreeing to the drugs..)
But because the court system "works that way", and "have a 90% prosecution" they don't get the option of parole even as a first time offender? then they put the father in an undercover situation that people train months for, and somehow it all works out. in the end its 'we will use you for what we need because your son made a small mistake and we don't care if you die. Be obedient, or we will force you to obedient. and it's because were doing it to protect you, and your freedom.
The Enemy (2001)
Are you for real?
Horrible acting, horrible cast and cheap props. Would've been a lot better if was set as an action parody style movie. What a waste. Starting from the name of the movie.
"The Enemy" Naming it "Action Movie" would've made it better. (contributing to the parody effect). The cop looking like a 60 Year old player, the blond girl just having the same blank boring look on her face at all times. Towards the end of the movie him and her are working together to take down the bad guys and every time they exchange words it just feels like the cheap lines given before a sex scene in a porn movie. Horrible. Don't waste your time.
