Gen V (2023)
Meh
I was really excited about this, really don't enjoy teen dramas and/or high school bs. But this had potential to be interesting.
Blood, gore and everything brutal and wicked The Boys has to offer is in Gen V. Everything is on point.
However the only characters I wanted to see and get invested in was Luke and Sam. I really don't care about the blood girl. Her character is boring and stupid.
They should have been focusing on Luke and Sam. Blood girl is more like a side character but in this show she is the "main" character. Odd choice really. Trailers gave the impression that Golden Boy was the main character or atleast the most interesting one. Will not continue watching.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Promising!
If it's any close to the first season up until fifth season of Game of Thrones, then it's going to be really good!
Writing seems great, not as the "last" season shît show of GoT where they betrayed the characters in question. Hopefully this will not happen again since it ended up me being done with Game of Thrones. I want to love this universe. I'm intrigued!
Star Trek: Picard: Hide and Seek (2022)
Waste of time.
I'm not a Star Trek fan, I enjoyed ones with Chris Pine. I watched the first season of Picard. Enjoyed some bits and writing was somewhat better. This season? Absolutely not. What is even going on here? I have no clue. Writing is terrible and I can't imagine what "real" Star Trek fans would feel like.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
Bittersweet ending.
What a ride this show has been, I've loved it from the start. One of the most exciting and brutal show to date. You never know what's going to unfold, you might have an idea but then they do something else.
I see alot of hate against the final episode, I kinda understand it but how it ended was the most brutal way for everyone. And that's what's make it so good. Bittersweet. Everyone wants a happy ending. Your heart will get broken for the characters in this show. Because there is no "winner" in the end. Writers did an amazing job.
Writing, character development, suspense, twists in this show is 11 out of 10. Last episode was a little rushed in someway but it needs to end somehow. I will miss this show and characters. I'm looking forward to any project Jason will do that comes near this kind of caliber.
Halo: Contact (2022)
Just wasted my time.
The only thing I liked was the violence and gore. There was some brutal action. Didn't expect that. Writers of the series are.. not so good. Story feels hollow and stupid. Not worth watching or follow.
Quality of the overall CGI was somewhat good to terrible, got impressed how they managed to mix it. If you want any good action and powerful story with really great voice acting and soundtrack. Play the game. I'm not going to watch another episode. Since I read that the showrunner didn't do any research about the games or lore I got a bit worried.
There is no respect or real passion for what came before and you will notice that if you are somewhat clever. And the helmet should stay on. The mystery of the character was thrown out of the window for nothing special at all. Lame.
The Harder They Fall (2021)
Kind of lame, music was weird.
Mediocre at best. Great actors but boring story. Worst was the music that was placed in scenes were it was not supposed to be in. Setting the tone with a good soundtrack is important. Using tunes that could have existed in that era was the way to go. Not this. Felt like a bad music video, extended by a lot.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021)
Filoni at his best.
Great start! Dave Filoni can do no wrong. As he is one of three that is the future for Star Wars. Jon Favreau and George Lucas being the other ones. I'm excited for what await us in the coming weeks.
WandaVision: Now in Color (2021)
Its a snooze-fest, really.
After watching 3 episodes now, it makes me wonder if its going to start telling a story. All these little breadcrumbs was interesting the first episode. By the third they have really pushed it too far by not getting out of this television-bubble.
The first episode was too short, should have been an hour. Even episode 1 and 2 should have been merged into one. And by episode 2 the story should have started. Im bored already with it and im leaning not to continue watching it because it feels like a waste of time.
The only thing that is exciting so far is Teyonah Parris and what character she is playing. I get the charm of the whole setting, its cool. But its not 3 episodes cool and draging it out this much is a stretch. Just because its "Marvel" doesnt mean that it can do no wrong.
So far they are only flexing thier budget and the artistic style/effects. I want a story, and it should have started mid episode 2. I dont care about any budget. I care about great character development in a intresting pace. I noticed every subtle hint and was forced to watch a explained video so that I can "appreciate" WandaVision.
Mandalorian sucked me into its world. Im hooked and excited. WandaVision, im just watching it because 2020 was a dry year of movies and tv-shows. And of course its "Marvel".
So I really hope that ep.4 start telling a intresting and exciting story or im out.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
A huge disappointment.
I'm kind of heartbroken. Not in that way when Jon gets a knife in the heart. Not like how The Red Wedding escalates. Not like Ghost didn't get any love after the fight with the White Walkers.
Game of Thrones has been like a really rough relationship. And I've never been more invested in a story or character development like I have in Game of Thrones.
So how do I feel when the characters lost the identity of themselves and are just somewhat rushed to a very odd conclusion? I feel robbed of 2 years waiting. I feel robbed of eight or nine years, where it's been alot of heartbreaking moments - for it to end like this? I'm really sorry for David and Dan. Without any of the source material they have absoluty no talent. I cannot understand why we got cool & gorgeous scenes traded in for the writing who was so out of touch from what it just to be. With GRRM's vision and help of course.
I sincerely wish and hope that D&D does well in Star Wars. But I'm going to be as far away that I possibly can be - because I don't trust them to actually pull it off.
And I would like to thank everyone who made the show for what it was for so many years, I'm just so disappointed that it had to end in a rushed way. All that building up too was for absoluty nothing.
In a way, D&D have made us fans really excited how Game of Thrones actually ends. We will get the official ending someday.
