History of the World: Part II (2023)
Can I call it bad?
Not good. Really, really, really not good. Or funny in any way whatsoever.
Apparently I have to use more words so here I go clicking iOS suggested words: not the best thing for you but the most beautiful things that I can say about me are that you have a wonderful day at school today I am very grateful to have a good morning to all my students I am so thankful for that and that you have been a great teacher I love my kids I have been so happy with my kids I love them and I'm very grateful to them for being in the world I am very thankful to them for that they have a great job they have a wonderful people.
Moon Knight (2022)
Unsure
Has potential, and I want to like it, but if Isaac's British accent is meant to be believable... well it's not Mary Poppins bad, but Disney certainly didn't ask any natives.
Will decide after ep2.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet (2020)
That's not how you pronounce it...
Ian. Not difficult to pronounce. It's Ee-an, not Aii-an. Couldn't get past the first 5 minutes because of this.
The Boys: We Gotta Go Now (2020)
Minus 12 for the crappy accents
I was, frankly, insulted by the attempted British accents in this episode.
Motherland: Fort Salem (2020)
Bad acting. Bad script.
Poor acting, poor script.
Don't know about plot, but not hopeful. Only reason I gave it two stars Is because one star is reserved for Red Tails.
The First Team (2020)
My football-hating wife loves this show
The show is set in the world of professional football, but is a well crafted sitcom about personal relationships and 'fitting in' that could equally well be set in the world of IT, Knitting or Politics.
Ignore the haters and give this a go.
Sex Education (2019)
The only way to make the classic American High School genre better is to...
... set it in Britain, fill it full of British humour, and give it a decent budget.
His Dark Materials (2019)
Wow!
That the acting and casting are both superb are not a surprise (because BBC). That the CGI characters are better even than GOT and many recent movies... was.
The BBC have given the epic the room it needs, and if this doesn't make them enough money to keep letting Ruth Wilson play evil, I will wholeheartedly support raising the license fee.
Red Tails (2012)
All due respect to the subject but...
... the movie is badly scripted and badly shot. The acting was ok, in as much as they spoke the bad script well, but save yourself the 10 minutes it'll take before you give up and watch something better like a rerun of paint drying.
(No disrespect is intended towards the subjects of the story, who actually existed. Although were probably less whoopy)
Years and Years (2019)
Kinda dull TBH
It's clearly 'good'. Well acted by a great cast, good writing and directing. Not sure about the overall plot as I couldn't finish it... which is what brings me here. It took all the right ingredients and made a cake I didn't want to eat a second slice of.
Tonight With Vladimir Putin (2019)
Can I say: poopy?
To describe this as utter, risible, poopy is to do a disservice to the word poopy.
Historical Roasts (2019)
I don't get roasts
Even when they're real roasts, I have problems seeing them as funny.
I can see that effort and talks to goes in to them, but just don't get it.
Maybe it's a cultural thing (I'm from a country that has some), but it's just not funny.
Black Mirror: Crocodile (2017)
Power-scouser
A thoroughly dislikable power-scouser proves your first impression was correct in a fine episode.
