The Power of the Dog (2021)
Good, but a bit overrated
Slowly unfolding story that kept me interested although you could roughly see it's theme. I did not like the cuts and time skips however. Instead I would have preferred it to be more continuous and filled with a bit more story and more lively characters to make up for the then added length.
Not sure if the book constrained the makers here tho. Overall I did enjoy the movie but felt it had more potential.
The Woman in the Window (2021)
Its not great, but its not bad either.
Camera and direction seem a bit tryhard. Might have been necessary to properly set the theme and represent the main characters state of mine tho. Not sure. Overall, the film is enjoyable. It's not going to be a classic or win any prizes, but you will not regret watching it.
Everybody's Everything (2019)
Mediocre documentation
I am sorry it ended that way. I feel he should have received more support in his teens.
Blaming the father seemed unfair for how we weren't told how the marriage was and how the kids
were treated. Quite unfounded.
How Gus is presented as this talent, genius etc is incomprehensible. I'm sure he was a good
guy, but all this praise is a bit over the top and looks like a guilt trip. But that is kind of what you have to do
after leeching off him all the time and watching him destroy himself, right?
To conclude: shallow documentary, naive characters and a lot of fuss about nothing.
Another Life (2019)
It's bad.
There had to be people writing the script. People reading the script. People deciding for it. People investing in it. Was there even a script?
Because someone must have noticed at some point that its bad...
Was it a favor for someone?
Was it to train some new guys?
Did the participants feel bad about this project?
Were there any motions to cancel it?
Will someone be held responsible for it?
