5/10 - cuz half sucked, half didn't
29 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love Ana's portrayal. I think she did a marvellous job. The way it was filmed in this flip flop , two shots into one, etc etc. Got really confusing. And it felt like Marilyn's life was being used as an example of bad situations that happened to her. I didn't feel that any of the abuse should have been shown. It just made it hard to watching, especially being a Marilyn Monroe fan.

So 5/10. Good /bad

Plus the transition from colour to black and white was woozy.

I like many other Marilyn based movies out there won't ever compare after this, but at least they aren't brutal.

Just my opinion is all.

Okay, but not great

I prefer 'The Act' version better. Had more plot line. This was an 'okay' version.

Not enough intensity. It skipped to the end real quick. Which made it kinda confusing.

WTH 🤦‍♀️

WTH 🤦‍♀️ Could thing I didn't have to pay anything to watch this.

Or I'd demand my money back.

Weird. Just so weird. I liked two actors out of the whole show. Other than that it was just a confusing storyline.

I'm rooting for season 2 to be better. 🙏🏻 #hereshoping.

Snore fest

If Affleck didn't have that run-of-the-mill straight lipped, pissed off expression the whole time, then maybe...just maybe...the movie wouldn't have sucked.

I really like Ana, but her role was a relentless string of guys and it got so dull so fast.

Not worthy of a second watch.

Yawn

Only thing worth liking about this series is Emily Osment.

Nothing will ever compare to #youngandhungry.

I was hoping that the third episode into the series would get better but I'm still yawning. Pick up the pace please.

A 3 and nothing else
22 August 2021
So I knew that going headfirst into this remake was going to be different. Different cast, different storyline. But... What I didn't expect was the oh so confusing storyline. It jumps all over the place. The actors are terrible. First episode made it appear to have potential and then episode 2 spiralled out of control. I found myself saying 'what the hell?' very often.

Due us all a favour, and the next time a remake is considered- at least spend more than 10 minutes picking out who to cast, how the storyline will go, and the soundtrack.

Kirsten bell will always be a genius. But this sad excuse for a show leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth.

Good actors. Story is a little wanting.

Just skip to the hour and 22 minute mark for it to finally get interesting.

Good actors, kinda drags a bit
11 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I totally get that it's based on true story. And that the dialogue throughout is basically just guesswork.

I love the actors though.

Jenna Coleman is my favourite actress. Billy howle is pretty good but I feel like he needs to chill the hell out a bit in some scenes. The rapid French that's spoken is sometimes mumbled, but thank God for subtitles.

Really sad story though in the way of it being true. And that that psycho tried to elude cops, but then get captured and then escape.

The storyline seemed to drag, then again it's probably my attention span waiting for the action to begin.

I'll finish watching the show, but I hope that episode 7 and 8 improve.

An even opinion
1 March 2021
I chose 5 out of 10 stars because while it does lack some obvious skills that actors need, it's still built around the story of a real life person. So imperfections cast aside, I think she's remarkable. A fight to get her child back. An abusive ex husband who really needs to get what he deserves. But her desire to make a stable home for her and her daughter is what is inspiring. The love that radiates from that persistence she has. I am only one episode into the series and I will not spoil anything further as I continue to watch it. Rather than merely looking at the flaws of the acting and etc. Look at the true story behind it. There is no flaw in a true story.

Good actors, weird plot

I don't think I know where to begin... Love the actors, but the storyline was so far fetched and scattered, it made it confusing.

Love it! (Minus a few parts)
28 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I love the show. It's a spiced up regency era drama series that I think Jane Austen herself would find amusing. But would she be equally as appalled at the continued sex scenes? I found myself cringing at the Granville house 'parties'. Not exactly something I expected. Other than the unnecessary amount of sex thrown in, it's a good show. I do hope for a second series. C'mon Netflix and etc, don't let us fans down.

Loved it, #Hessa
12 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Loved it! However, I didn't think the similarities of Fifty Shades needed to be incorporated into the film. Rather unnecessary to have the 'F' bomb constantly thrown in. But despite that, I still love the series thus far. And I can't for the next one. 👌

Critics are stupid, this movie is amazing!
8 March 2020
The critics are a bunch of dumbasses. This movie is amazing. There's nothing wrong with the CGI. The actors are incredible, the storyline is wonderful, and the fact that they labeled this a box office bomb is infuriating. There's enough movies about car chases, drug lords and prostitution- it's about damn time that there's a wholesome movie available. And this is one of them.

The promo is better than the actual movie
4 March 2020
As is the case with certain movies and tv shows, the promo is more exciting than the actual film. The storyline is embedded in weird background music and confusing characters. Tuppence Middleton is an awesome actress, but this film fails to impress.

Rather average, nothing fancy
17 February 2020
It seemed to take forever to get interesting. More F words than a decent story line. Blake Lively is still an awesome actress, despite this disappointing film. Jude Law plays a brute, that isn't admirable even if he's meant to be a badass in the movie.

Could be better
9 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The promo for the show builds anticipation, whereas the show itself leaves one wanting. Not thrilled about the gay scene with the cop and the old guy. Super gross. I kinda hope the rest of the episodes don't have that. And the F bomb constantly being dropped makes it worse.

Great cast, kinda creepy storyline
2 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie, already knowing that it had a zombie-like plot line. But the intense gory aspects such as the one soldiers head being bashed in with the butt end of a rifle was kinda over the top. I like the suspense. The constant curse words were unnecessary. But I kept watching because Wyatt Russell is 👌 #hottie

Unnecessary amount of swearing- doesn't make the story
27 December 2019
I have never understood why coarse language, sex, and violence (in over excessive amounts) are needed to make a movie good. When in fact- it isn't. The cast is amazing. But the repetitive F bombs thrown in, continually made me cringe and bothered me. I would give it a much better rating than this, if the directors etc didn't include such language. It's not needed to create a good story. And it doesn't make the critics accept it more either if that's how it is.

A work of pure genius
26 December 2019
Caroline Kepnes is brilliant. Two amazing books (thus far). And I love the show! I've binge watched season 1 so many times I've lost count. And I've done my own fair share of stalking the internet and social media for news of more to come. I don't give a damn as to what some critics say. I'll continue to watch it. It's the best edge-of-your-seat gripping kind of show. Joe is what you would assume is a nice guy, all around great bookstore manager, who has eyes like a hawk for the next young woman to walk through the store's door. And the show continues to appeal with the twists and turns and I absolutely love it!

Look at the bigger picture
22 December 2019
While it does not have all of the original actors from the first movie, it really doesn't matter. Because the story is what counts. And I firmly believe that the actors in this second one are just as brilliant. Louis' story is still remarkable and amazing and he endured such nightmares. If he was still alive to have see this version, I'm sure he would be just as proud. Critics can be so harsh when they review movies. And I think they were way off the mark when they considered this movie to not be as successful. They have lost sight of the reason for it and what the story really means.

Love it, except the language
12 September 2019
I love the show. I love Jack Bannon as Alfred. He's incredible in the role, as is the rest of the cast. But the language is unnecessary. I don't see how the F word needs to be included in every other sentence or scene. That proves to be the only thing that disappoints me about the show.

A tad sad
6 September 2019
I went into watching the first episode, with the hopes of enjoying a narrated show talking about a major part of history. But when the first F word was uttered I was quite taken by surprise. And then that horrific orgy scene was unnecessary. It's already known that Rasputin thoroughly engaged in acts like that, but to see it on the screen and for more than 30 seconds was quite the turn off. I enjoyed all the other parts of the episode, and I intend to finish watching the series, but I hope that my expectations aren't dashed by further scenes and language that shouldn't be included to begin with.
