Death in Paradise: Chain Reaction (2021)
Worst Series Since Kris Marshall Era
Tried several episodes of this series ; but keep giving up. I believe new producers and writers? But stories are threadbare, chief inspector increasingly sidelined and plodding
Unimaginative plots. So disappointing- looks like it has run its course.
Death in Paradise: Steamy Confessions (2021)
Ep2 almost as bad as ep1
It's lost all its charm. Plodding pace, poor acting; sterile. Inspector almost sidelined. Telegraphed plot. Such a shame. Ardal was superb; this guy was fine last series; but this series it has all deteriorated markedly. Now neither fish nor fowl. Compared to previous three episodes it's a travesty
Death in Paradise: Pilot of the Airwaves (2021)
Worst episode sine Kris Marshall
What a disappointment! In fact can't be bothered any more. Awful. Different writer.over acting. Plot was weak, devoid of usual
Clever method. Allergies redirected "on steroids" and annoying. Time shift was obvious from beginning. Commissioner involved doesn't work. So sad really downhill.
Death in Paradise (2011)
All About Ardal
Ok with Ben Miller. Dreadful with Kris Marshall and superb with Ardal O'Hanlon. He got it spot on maybe it takes a comedian to dial down the "ooh ar missus" of the silly stories. He played it absolutely perfectly. New guy is ok we'll see.
Ripper Street (2012)
Brilliant at first; then faded just as theme music
First few series were excellent; but around the time Amazon took over it became too concerned with the characters and not the crimes. It also became too far-fetched to believe the plot lines and coincidences. Then the theme music was castrated too. A shame, as it was good for many series and two main actors were superb. (I'm half way through series 5 at mo!)
His Dark Materials: Æsahættr (2020)
Not enough Lyra; too much Will
Series 1 far superior to its patchy successor. Lyra demoted and Will not a good enough actor to grip. series 2 very patchy- ponderous and uninvolving. Final socialist propaganda scene didn't help either.
Great British Rivers: Then & Now: The River Severn (2020)
Interesting ; Poor Commentary
Struggling with what is Actually quite interesting; due to appalling commentary. Flat and constantly stressing all the wrong syllables. Off putting.
The Pale Horse (2020)
Superb Hokkum!
Nonsense! But what nonsense! Well shot; superbly acted; chilling; Quirky; wonderful
Production values. All in all really rather good indeed.
The Outsider (2020)
Slower Than A Tortoise
Awful. More holes in plot than a colander. "Main" detective does no detecting but mumbles for england! Each episode slower and less thrilling than the former. Decent premise; but soooooooo slow and ultimately crap!
The Outsider: The One About the Yiddish Vampire (2020)
Mendelssohn Awful
Mumble
Mumble
Toil and trouble. Worst performance ever. The part is superfluous and his acting is terrible.
