Pistol (2022)
Intoxicating
It is interesting to see the punk movement in the UK amongst the real social picture of the 70/80's. People were really disheartened and that shows in the music of that time! Brilliant!
White Lines: Episode #1.1 (2020)
Unfortunately does not follow expectations
The show's idea is interesting. There are a though lot of blanks left as for example, whether it is a thriller, a comedy/dramedy?
Characters are mixed up and the Boxer character is a funny mix, although he is the best in the bunch.
I find it interesting Zoe searching for herself but seems the script doesn't make you feel this way all the time: a confused character, a late to mature adult, therapist seeking, attention seeking, adventurous or just plain stupid.
One also needs to add the lack of continuity: Zoe comes to father's camping trailer by taxi, but tells him to leave and has a scooter all of a sudden; police father and Spanish police friend are watching guests coming to a party at the late son's friend's house: on the watch you see it is late night; moves on to the characters speaking, it is a bright sunny day!
Little Fires Everywhere (2020)
Good series but...
I don't understand why Kerry Washington is on the cast at all: she only does the same weird very forced facial expressions all the time; one could say she was dramatising the role, but the two episodes I saw her in on Scandal, showed the same thing.
Seriously not cool. It was not a very good come-to-live depiction of such a strong character for Mia Warren as in the book.
As for Reese's acting, some say she has the same role as in Big Little Lies, and in a sense she does have, a mother who believes motherhood is a professional status, who abdicates her life for the kids and social appearances. But she is good in it. You can see softness, arrogance, pity, disdain and all different spectra of human emotions.
All in all, I liked the television adaptation of the book.
Quantico (2015)
Worst ever series on TV
I stopped watching Quantico after giving it an one season grace to it. The few good actors got so entangled in a much more like a Bollywood movie sort of thing, that is not even funny any more. The main character is probably being promoted by someone as I believe she is used to Indian movies: the way she looks at the cameras and all, the lack of empathy for the character, it is not Hollywood at all. It is really sad to see that it got renewed to a second season. I hope this to be the last. Im sorry for the young talents getting into the CIA, when they make a mockery of the pity party going o on that comedy drama sort of episodes.
