Shaitaan (2024)
Another potential went to waste
This movie had a lot of potential but the story writer was sleeping and the potential was buried under a disappointing script.
Stellar performances by the cast and impressive direction couldn't salvage a story that felt like a stretched-out crime episode. The best moments were shown in the trailer, leaving viewers who saw it feeling like they'd already experienced the bulk of the film. While the acting, directing, and visuals were all strong, the narrative lacked depth and could have been condensed considerably. The pacing dragged, leaving audiences wishing for a fast-forward button at times. It's a shame a potentially great film turned into a 2+ hrs slog that could have been a captivating short story.
Laapataa Ladies (2023)
A good movie with a happy ending
Laapata Ladies is like a warm hug on a chilly night-a movie that wraps you up in its charm and leaves you with a smile. Nitanshi Goel steals the show with her cuteness overload, melting hearts with her innocent portrayal. Sure, the story might have a few bumps along the way, but who cares when you're having this much fun?
The cast brings their A-game, serving up performances that make you feel like you're part of their squad. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll cheer them on as they navigate life's ups and downs.
Props to the director for painting such a vivid picture, capturing the essence of friendship and adventure with every frame. And while the plot might not be flawless, it's the journey that counts, right?
So, if you're in the mood for a feel-good flick with a happy ending, Laapata Ladies is your ticket to a night of pure joy. Popcorn, anyone?
Article 370 (2024)
Emotionally Charged and Captivating
The acting, especially Yami Gautam's portrayal of Zooni Haksar, was absolutely top-notch. Backed by a stellar cast including Kiran Karmarkar and Arun Govil, the film expertly chronicles the events leading up to the abrogation of Article 370, offering poignant glimpses into the lives ensnared in the conflict.
The cinematography beautifully captured the essence of Kashmir, making it feel like you're right there in the midst of it all. Even though some portrayals might have lacked a bit of depth, the overall narrative kept me engrossed till the end. It's not just a movie; it's a powerful reflection of the human experience and the enduring bond between Kashmir and India. So if you're looking for a thought-provoking journey through one of the world's most contested regions, this is definitely the movie to watch!
Crakk: Jeetega... Toh Jiyegaa (2024)
There's Something Different about this one
I recently watched the movie, and I have to say it left me with mixed feelings. The acting was decent, nothing extraordinary but not terrible either. I'd rate it around a 6 out of 10.
Now, the music and sound effects really stood out to me. They were so well done, really added depth to the scenes, and kept me engaged throughout. You feel it throughout the sorry. Plus there were no unnecessary typical Bollywood songs. Solid 10 out of 10 there.
As for the action, it was good, kept the adrenaline pumping, but it didn't blow me away. I'd say it's about a 7 out of 10. The story was fine, definitely different from what I expected, which was a nice surprise. However, there were moments where it felt a bit cluttered with unnecessary subplots. I'd give the story a 6 out of 10.
On the visual side, the cinematography was impressive. The scenes were beautifully shot, capturing the essence of the story. The movie felt sped up a bit, I'd rate it around an 7 out of 10.
Overall, I'd say the movie was alright. It had its highs and lows, but it's worth a watch if you're into something a bit different than your usual bollywood movies.
Animal (2023)
Animal: A Rollercoaster of Intensity and Gore
In this adrenaline-fueled action-packed thriller, viewers are catapulted into a world of vengeance and retribution as the son of a powerful industrialist returns home to protect his father from imminent threats.
The film delivers an explosive blend of heart-stopping action, visceral violence, and relentless revenge. From pulse-pounding chase sequences to bone-crunching fight scenes, this movie keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
With a stellar cast delivering electrifying performances, each actor embodies their role with intensity and conviction. Their portrayal of characters driven by revenge adds layers of depth to the narrative, drawing viewers deeper into the web of intrigue and betrayal.
As the story unfolds, themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the thirst for justice collide in a whirlwind of high-octane excitement. The film's unapologetic approach to violence serves as a visceral reminder of the stakes at hand, driving home the brutal realities of the characters' quest for retribution.
While some may shy away from the film's graphic depiction of violence, it serves as a powerful catalyst for the narrative's relentless momentum. Every punch thrown and bullet fired propels the story forward, leading to a climactic showdown that leaves no stone unturned.
In the realm of action cinema, this movie stands as a testament to the genre's enduring appeal. It is a pulse-pounding thrill ride that satisfies the adrenaline junkie in all of us, offering a visceral experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
Mann Pasand (2023)
Disappointing dive into lame jokes and superficial stories
As a devoted fan of Zakir Khan's humor, watching "Mann Pasand" was an eagerly awaited experience that, unfortunately, ended in disappointment. Khan's signature witty jokes were replaced by a series of lame attempts that fell flat, lacking the usual cleverness we've come to love.
What's more disheartening is the departure from Khan's storytelling prowess. Instead of his usual knack for turning everyday incidents into comedic gold, the show featured what sounded like fabricated stories, lacking the genuine charm that makes his performances memorable.
Adding to the letdown, the set was devoid of punchlines. Khan seemed to abandon his well-honed comedic timing, leaving the audience with a scripted monologue rather than the laughter-inducing experience we anticipated. The suspicion of strategically placed laughter in the audience further detracted from the authenticity of the show.
In a first for me, I left a Zakir Khan show halfway through, a decision made with a heavy heart. "Mann Pasand Set" failed to meet the high standards set by this comedy maestro, leaving fans longing for the genuine laughs and relatable humor that define Zakir Khan's best performances.
Gadar 2 (2023)
3 hours of pure Torture
Gadar 2, touted as a much-awaited sequel, unfortunately falls short of expectations. Clocking in at a daunting 3 hours, the film turns into a test of endurance for the audience. The unnecessary and convoluted storyline only adds to the agony, making one wonder if it was a rushed attempt.
The acting, a crucial element in any cinematic experience, disappoints profoundly. The performances come across as lackluster, failing to evoke any emotional connection. It's disheartening to witness talented actors struggling with poorly etched characters and uninspiring dialogue delivery.
What's particularly dismaying is the film's reliance on the same old India-Pakistan conflict narrative. While this theme might have worked in the original, its repetitiveness in the sequel feels uninspired and clichéd. The lack of innovation in storytelling is evident and leaves much to be desired.
However, amidst the gloom, a surprising point arises. Gadar 2 managed to rake in an astonishing 400+ crore rupees at the box office. This financial feat could partly be attributed to the lingering charm of its predecessor and clever marketing. The film's music and songs also offered brief moments of relief, yet weren't enough to overshadow its lackluster narrative and performances. Ultimately, while Gadar 2 achieved remarkable financial success, it serves as a reminder that box office figures don't always reflect cinematic quality.
Adipurush (2023)
How can someone make a movie that bad ?
Summary:
Adipurush, a movie supposedly based on the Hindu mythology Ramayan, proves to be a disastrous departure from tradition. With its misguided choices in visual effects, abysmal dialogues, and language inconsistencies, the film misses the mark on multiple levels.
Detailed Review:
A question to the director and the other heads, how can you be so irresponsible while making this masterpiece of a story into something trash? The blatant disregard for retaining the original character personalities is appalling. Ravan, a Brahmin devotee of Shiv, known for his vegetarianism, is completely transformed in this movie, which not only disrespects the original mythology but also has the potential to hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.
Let's talk about the VFX, or rather the lack thereof. Despite having a higher budget than Brahmastra, Adipurush fails to achieve even a fraction of the visual effects quality. It's clear that more effort should have been put into fixing the VFX instead of just superficially color grading the scenes.
The dialogues in Adipurush reach new depths of mediocrity. While attempting to portray a more modern interpretation, the filmmakers fail to put in the necessary effort to create dialogues that can be understood and appreciated by any generation. The result is a disjointed and poorly crafted script that leaves viewers cringing and yearning for substance.
In conclusion, my disappointment with Adipurush is immeasurable, and it truly ruined my day. The film's disregard for character authenticity, subpar VFX, and atrocious dialogues render it an abysmal cinematic experience. It fails to deliver on its promise of an engaging and respectful adaptation of the revered Ramayan Epic. It serves as a disservice to both the source material and the audience, leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of those who had hoped for so much more.
65 (2023)
Bad Story with Unnecessary Relationship
I don't know why they can't make movies without any "emotional" part. Look we get you want to show Father-Daughter relationship but at least build the story a bit. The story started quickly without any information about the mission which ruined the overall expectation.
Personally, I would've liked if Adam Driver was the only survivor like "The Martian" because the other character and the relationship is unnecessary.
CGI and Acting by the actors is good, they tried their best.
This could have been a good movie if the build up was good but not recommended if you are a Sci-fi, Thriller genre fan as it would be a waste of time.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Dissapointed
The story was there already you guys had to present it to us in a thrilling way but no it was a very slow moving series with very little CGI/VFX.
The scenes are amazing but they are lacking the action. No powers/mythical creatures/magic etc. Were there which was expected from Lord of the rings.
Each episode gradually became less exciting as there were no action sequences/effect which would keep the viewer watch the full episode.
The costumes, music background scenery was good but it was not exciting as the original Lord of the Rings Movies.
I was excited that a tv series is coming but it was not worth the hype.
Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega (2020)
Best Acting I've ever experienced
The Acting in this series makes it 10/10 rating but the first season reduced the overall rating to 9/10, the second season is 10/10.
You can truly feel and experience the acting when you feel the emotions portrayed like anger, hate, love, brotherhood etc.
Fantastic storyline, cinematography and direction.
No loopholes, no misses. The cast is amazing and the experience is thrilling throughout the season.
You will definitely love it if you loved "Mirzapur" "Gangs of Wasseypur" etc. As this is very closely related.
The main cast is very talented actors which makes this show great !
Can't wait for another season.
10/10 Must watch.
The Gray Man (2022)
Overhyped, Predictable action film
Just casting big Actors/Actresses doesn't mean it will be good !
Heard that Russo brothers were directing it so expected more intense action sequences, but i was disappointed that a lot of CGI scenes were used and I am not telling using CGI is bad but atleast make it look good. Just take an example of any explosion scene, it looks fake.
Acting part is totally upto mark as it is expected from big stars.
Story is not good. Just the old rogue agent story.
The Terminal List (2022)
Usually I don't rate but this is 9/10 definitely
This series keeps you indulged from the start to the end. I kept guessing the mystery behind till the last few minutes. I really love the cinematography, direction, action scenes, and most importantly acting. Each of the actors/actresses did a great job at making it look realistic and there wasn't anything that you can't believe could happen in real life. To Summarize a must watch for action/thriller/mystery lovers.
Acting: 9/10
Direction: 10/10
Action: 10/10
Cinematography: 10/10
Realistic: 9/10
*Don't you think there are some movies/tv series that are so good that you need to review them on IMDB😁, this is one of them.
Janhit Mein Jaari (2022)
Overall a good movie
A composition of good acting, comedy and social message. This movie is a good one time watch. Nushrat's acting in this film is commendable. Plus this film was shot in Chanderi which is near my hometown 😊 but several other movies like Stree, Sui dhaga were also shot there.
Overall: Good Laugh, Not the best storyline, good comedy.
The Whistleblower (2021)
What an amazing TV Series!
Everything from Acting, Story, Direction, Cinematography, Music is perfect. Couldn't expect better.
Highly recommended for people who loved scam 1992 harshad mehta story.
La Brea (2021)
10/10 based on the pilot episode
What a great start !! That's what I wanted, a perfect pilot episode gives us all about what is going to happen and what can we expect. The story seems to be technically relatable and I'm expecting more adventure like the "Lost"
Will be updating my review after I watch all the episodes.
Helmet (2021)
Better than most bollywood movies coming nowadays
First Bollywood movie I have watched in a long time. I usually do a quick review search for the movie before I watch it and the trailer induced the urge to watch it.
The script is unique & the movie is entertaining and gives a very clear message on national issues like Population Control and health issues like AIDS, STDs, etc. Plus bonus "Entrepreneurship" adventure.
The acting was not up to the mark & the ending could be better but it was not a waste of time.
InShort: Watch it and review it, these kinds of movies should reach other people.
Stillwater (2021)
Average Story, Unnecessarily long, Faded Ending
Slow movie with decent acting. The ending doesn't show any correlation between the start/climax. Expecting some action but found nothing. Expecting some mystery still got nothing. Don't Waste Your Time.
Out of Time (2021)
Good Movie but climax is little bit off
This movie is good in the way it's a combination of time travel and horror but the climax could've been a little better and acting could've been better.
Anyways, people who loves time-travel, horror movie with a pint of bollywood then you should watch this and review for people.
I was not expecting this from a bollywood movie.
Fun2shh... Dudes in the 10th Century (2003)
Nostalgic
Saw this when I was a child and giving a 10 as a child.
Midsommar (2019)
Disgusting movie and a waste of time
Initially it felt like there's some mystery going around but after watching it for almost 3 hours I still am confused what the movie is about.
I don't know about swedish customs but the way it is portrayed in the movie was disgusting.
If there's one movie that is the worst then this is it.
If you still don't believe me, watch it and find out.
I think people who rated this more than 2 stars are the one's related to it. Like come on, I would never review this if it was bad or worst, it is just wierd and disturbed.
Black Widow (2021)
Finally a bad movie from marvel's
Never Expected marvel's to do this bad. This movie is totally unnecessary and have no link with other movies.
Radhe (2021)
I would give negative rating if possible
Same old Salman Movie nothing out of the box. Many people are risking their lives to make this movie and Imagine resulting all that in a joke.
The Girl on the Train (2021)
Pathetic
I know that bollywood movies are pretty bad (except few ones) but this remake of the The Girl on The Train ()2016 was worse.
Bollywood directors & writers are running out of original ideas, they just waste time and resources on remaking songs & movies.
I don't know if this will get better or even more worse by time.
The Dark Knight (2008)
The best action movie you'll ever see.
This movie is full of action, adventure, thrill and suspense.
The actors did an amazing job in giving life to characters.
