Too much bad language. Liked the acting, twins are very good. I just wanted to do a short review but this program wants 475 more characters. Too much stupidity in the way the characters live. Definitely not a role model movie. Too much bad language. Liked the acting, twins are very good. I just wanted to do a short review but this program wants 475 more characters. Could've been really good
29 April 2023
Ruined by all the horrible cursing and swearing. Alan Tudyk is such an amazing actor, but the aforementioned ruined his acting prowess. He was so good in Serenity, but that also had some bad language. Don't the writers and directors see that their creations would be no less entertaining without the bleep-able words? I won't be watching the next season. I will read about it online and avoid the bad words and cursing. I have no respect for people who cannot use intelligence to speak, but rather resort to gutter talk. How about making shows as entertaining as this could be without the terrible language?

Great movie about the love of soldiers for each other, and about obeying orders

"It's about the men next to you." This was an excellent movie about the horrors of battle, and about being loyal to your fellow soldiers. And obeying orders, even when the orders are stupid and don't make sense. The Viet Nam returning soldiers were blamed for obeying orders as well. I recommend this movie. Acting was very good, and the setting was very realistic. My review is too short to post so I am going to continue to ramble with extra words. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16. Read the book of John for the story.

Realistic movie

Lots of bad language, which I expected as it is rated for Mature Audiences. Acting was very good. Hard to watch considering it is about a school shooting. The two heroes saved the day because one was a good guy dad with a gun and the heroine, his daughter, was courageous because her dad had taught her how to handle a gun in serious situations, although she did not have a gun through most of the crisis. The perpetrators obviously did not have their guns legally: one was obviously somewhat of a mental case.

I would give this 10 if not for the swearing and cursing

Really, really entertaining movie! Great creativity and acting. Would've been just as good, I mean, better without the bad language. I was smiling at the end, and that is what tells me it was good, but I can still hear the swearing when I think of it. Can't recommend to others because of that. Too bad to spoil a really good movie because of unnecessary crass words.
The Unlikely Good Samaritan
(2019)
This was thought provoking

Interestingly done film, simple story and production. Dealt with many different issues. A little slow but IMO that gives the viewer a chance to ponder what the characters are dealing with. Puts more meaning into Jesus' command to love our neighbor. I liked it but many will not because we are so spoiled on Hollywood extravagantly done creations.

Could have been a 10

The cops are never wearing their seatbelts! Bad example for young people. Except for that, I loved this movie. Excellent theme! Good, sometimes great, acting. One other pet peeve: I think the cops had their finger on the trigger, which is a no-no if you know ANYTHING about shooting firearms. Never touch the trigger unless you are 100% going to fire.
Jumanji: The Next Level

Way too much swearing and cursing

The movie was very entertaining but the language was atrocious. Did not add anything to the movie at all. So disappointing. Can't take kids to it for that reason. Bad language is never necessary. Without the bad language, I would give it 10 stars.
Best movie I've seen

Action packed, and lots of adventure.
I recommend this movie to all kids.
Above written by my 10.5 year old grandson. Grandma agrees with his comments. Excellent moral movie about character and faith in yourself because of faith in God. And no one is an accident, we are all planned by God to be alive.

If not for the bad language, I would give this 10 stars

Very interesting view of what loss is like for those who have no true north, i.e., spiritual dimension to life. I really liked it. Watched the beginning after seeing the whole film, made more sense to me. A John 3:16 conclusion would make it hopeful. IMO.
Is Genesis History?

Can't hardly believe what I am reading in these reviews
29 November 2019
I think most of the reviewers of this excellent movie DID NOT SEE the movie.
Over 14 PhDs were involved in this movie; of course all the negative reviews were by people as intelligent as a PhD (NOT!).
The premise of this film was made clear at the end; the Bible, God's Word, is based on, has a foundation of, Genesis. If you do not believe a literal Genesis, then you cannot believe the rest of God's Word as being Truth. Genesis is an explanation of God's creation of the world, in six days, literally. The movie explains how this probably happened and in my opinion it was extremely well done. Science is never settled; science is always changing and "evolving." So to rely on science as the source of life and our world is like standing on shifting sand. Everything you learn from science MUST BE challenged and re-challenged, and considered as theory, not proof. There is no proof of the big bang. In Genesis, you can follow a trail of history to prove its credibility. And, again, there are over 14 PhDs involved. Are you smarter than a PhD? And most of them work at state universities, not religious colleges. Hmmm.

Loved it

Great movie with Kevin's family playing some of the characters. All good actors. Life-affirming film. Lots of alcohol abuse in the beginning, not glorifying it though. Probably not appropriate for younger children; pre-teens and up. Highly recommend this quality film.
Nowhere Safe
(2014 TV Movie)
Excellent, excellent, excellent!

This was such a good movie! Can't understand the other reviews. Good for all kids who use cell phones. Telling untruths can DESTROY someone's life, and even make them consider something horrible to stop the pain. Dove family films gave it five stars. Acting is really good, and believable. I checked this out through interlibrary loan, and am considering purchasing it. This is a feel good afterward movie! Please make your own decision about this film, and don't listen to the negative reviews.
Relentless: Struggle for Peace in the Middle East
(2003 Video)
Here's the beginning of the story
16 March 2007
Moses and the Palestinians
The Prime Minister of Israel sits down with Arafat at the beginning of negotiations regarding the resolution of the conflict. The Prime Minister requests that he be allowed to begin with a story. Arafat replies, "Of course."
The Prime Minister begins his story: "Years before the Israelites came to the Promised Land and settled here, Moses led them for 40 years through the desert. The Israelites began complaining that they were thirsty and, lo and behold, a miracle occurred and a stream appeared before them. They drank their fill and then decided to take advantage of the stream to do some bathing -- including Moses. When Moses came out of the water, he found that all his clothing was missing.
"Who took my clothes?" Moses asked those around him.
"It was the Palestinians," replied the Israelites--"
"Wait a minute," objected Arafat immediately, "You can't blame us for everything. There were no Palestinians during the time of Moses!"
"All right," replies the Prime Minister, "Now that we've got that settled, let's begin our negotiations."
