Casablanca (1942)
This is my all-time favorite movie!
The ranges of characterizations, the ranges of emotions, are performed by what turned out to be a simply perfect cast (although not always first choices). I just watched it again and the more objectively I try to view it, the better it gets. Even most of those who don't agree with me that it is the BEST movie ever made have to concede that it ranks in the top ten. If you haven't seen it at least three times, there is still more there - reason to see it again.
Comanche blanco (1968)
Iberian idiocy.
If the Italian made cowboy flicks were "Spaghetti Westerns", this must be an "Enchilada Western", and it suffers by comparison. If it weren't for the presence in the cast of Cotten and Shatner, I'm sure this would be considered a "Cowboy and Indians" farce. I don't know how the two of them got involved in this but it was so compelling to Shatner that he played two roles. From horses who prance and dance little jigs in otherwise serious scenes, to Notah leading his band of Comanches while continuing to ride a western saddle, to buzzards that sound suspiciously like amplified crows, this whole thing might be somewhat entertaining if only the actors didn't take themselves so seriously.
