Rick and Morty: A Rickconvenient Mort (2021)
You will soon arrive at the Pain Station in 24 mins.
I'm not sure why but after all these years this has to be the most realistic feeling ep (when it comes to Rick and Morty) ever produced. Jokes were still there but Morty's dilemma felt real to watch.
Justice League (2017)
As Superman said in the Snyder Cut; "No Impressed"
The only parts I liked about this were actually filmed By Zack Snyder even though they were small scenes that survived, thus my 5 star review. The unbearable bits added by Joss Whedon were obvious to why the score is lowered to a 5. Either Joss actually thought he was making a good film or he wanted to sabotage it so it wouldn't rise to the levels of his Avengers movie. Long live the Snyder cut and let us finally restore the Snyderverse.
The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)
Why is he still shirtless?
This movie was just straight up hilarious. It never got like it was getting boring or going to fast. If you liked the first one you're definitely gonna enjoy this one, maybe even more. The characters were hilarious to watch even if they had little screen time but overall one of the few Netflix movies that feels like it's done well even for a sequel.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Victory and Death (2020)
Goodbye, old friend. May the force be with you.
I hadn't started watching Clone wars till late last year. I wasn't really interested in it back when it aired on Cartoon Network. I never thought it would become one of my favourite television shows to this day. So this finale broke me, with the fact that it would be the final ever episode of the show. The bond between Ashoka and Rex has never been stronger and shows how far they've come. There is definitely a couple different scenes in this that will make legends everywhere cry at some point during the episode. Again just like the last one the cinematography and animation was just as jaw dropping. All fans of this show would agree this is one of the best episodes of Clone Wars and you would definitely find closure after watching this finale. Goodbye 'Clone Wars' and may the force be with you.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Shattered (2020)
Definitely the saddest episode so far
This episode from start to finish was unbelievable. The episode starts off with a sense of dread because of what is about to go down. It is definitely one of the darkest and emotional episodes because of the consistent atmosphere that it projects. The cinematography and visuals are as beautiful and the suspense in it had me on the edge.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Phantom Apprentice (2020)
Exquisite
Having watched the last episode of season 7 (ep9) tensions were high for this episode... and boy did it deliver in one of the best battles in Star Wars we have ever seen from this show. I started smiling at moments in this particular episode because I was just blown away from the storytelling, music and action from every minute of this episode of season 7.
Community (2009)
Community really is streets ahead
Community is probably one of the best sitcoms I've watched in a long time. I binge watched the entire show in about a week when it released on Netflix. The reason for that was how I couldn't get enough of the characters and episodes. This tv show is incredibly creative and experimental with its episodes knowing how to keep things fresh and funny. The level of meta humour and incredible writing for the characters and episode is just icing on the cake. Each character is well fleshed out and likeable from the start. With how the writers develop them over the course of six seasons is spectacular. The episodes themselves are incredibly fun (maybe not season 4 as much) and hilarious and sometimes sad at an emotional level. Community is a must watch for anyone in lockdown right now!
Community: Remedial Chaos Theory (2011)
One of the best episodes I've ever seen on Community
The level of attention to detail and metaphorical detail in this episode is insane. The creativeness of scene was my favourite take away from the episode.
Community: Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Television (2015)
Community's ending fit the shows tone perfectly
Before last week I had no idea about this show besides the Chang memes that roamed the internet back then. After a 6 season binge watch I hesitated to even start the final episode. I tried to slow myself with the seasons but I just couldn't stop because of how well the characters and episodes were (except the gas leak year). But it all comes full circle this episode. The gang are allowed to daydream what their version of season 7 (year 7) would be. Each persons version of season 7 fits their personalities and motivations as a character perfectly. It's all silly thoughts until it's Jeff's turn which is when the emotional levels of the episode hit. Until Annie arrived with news that she would have to move for an internship at the FBI, that's when Jeff starts to take season 7 seriously. Having not wanting to be part of he study group at the start of the show, he sees the study group as his family and the never ending thought that he will be the last one left in the group while everyone eventually will leave him and be replaced except for him. He takes the thought of season 7 seriously and asks everyone to try and get jobs at Greendale like him but Annie and Abed have to decline due to their personal lives and he leaves in panic of that people would eventually leave. Jeff and Annie reunite at 'study room f' and finally kiss but are unable to be together under the circumstances. The show doesn't give the satisfaction of them being together because it would be too predictable so they the heartbreaking kiss satisfies enough with Chang revealing that he is 'legit gay' within a group hug. At the airport Jeff drops off Annie and Abed but decides to hug Abed twice showing how thankful he is for Abed and reminding the audience that he was really his first friend when he started at Greendale. Community was really one of the most creative shows and experimental of its time and most definitely was streets ahead than other shows. The finale will hit you in the feels because of how far these characters have come.
Miss Americana (2020)
Emotional and Uplifting
At first glance you might think it's a basically a movie that's there to market her career but it's far from it, it's her life story.
It shows the life she went through to get to where she is today. People who just automatically hate her because it's the "popular" thing to do might think that she lived the best life possible because she's another pop star. But that is far from the truth. This documentary shows the psychological pain she's been through over the years because of this hate, the emotional and mental pain she suffered because of incidents that put her in the seat of the bad guy coming from the media and celebrities. I went into this documentary surprised to the things they showed. For starters I did not know how far the feud between her and Kanye went back, especially the hashtag on twitter that caused her disappearance for a year.
The amount of bullsh!t she had to endure during the decade from the media and haters was phenomenal and now looking back I think those of us who have watched it couldn't be prouder of her.
It does show other parts of her career like her song writing processes and commitment to her work. There's a scene that shows her determination to make a better album after her previous one got snubbed by the grammy's, and it shows how hard she works to make the music that people want to listen to and one where she keeps doing this one scene in a music video so it could be perfect. I really liked the more personal parts of this documentary which I'll try not to go to in detail to but it shows her true happiness we haven't seen in a long time from her and emotionally sad parts from others, it goes to show you that not all celebrities are perfect in Hollywood.
I'm not gonna lie, for a good portion of my life I like many others did dislike Taylor swift because I thought that's what you should do since she's a pop star, but a couple years ago I decided to listen to one of her singles from reputation "Look What You Made Me Do". I was doing it as joke but I still couldn't stop listening to it even after the joke was done. So I decided to keep up with the songs she released at that time and eventually bought her albums "Lover" and "Reputation". For the first time in a long time I was listening to the lyrics and meaning behind them because of how well made and unique they were.
There aren't really many flaws in this documentary but one I might see other people might could be the politics section of this where she decides to go public about her thoughts but other than that I can't find anything I didn't like going into this.
This is my first review so I am sorry if there's anything I missed. I'm trying to keep this review as unbiased as possible, but give this documentary a go Swiftie or not. Some part of you might take away something from this documentary and maybe start to respect the life that she went through and career she built for herself and if you don't that's alright as well.
