Mamma Mia! (2008)
The best fun!
This is just one of those magical movies. It doesn't matter how many times I watch this movie...I'm there, grinning from ear to ear.
The cast is perfect...Meryl Streep, need I say more? Amanda is an absolute delight.
The location, Greece! Greece has had me hooked since Zorba the Greek came out and that's in black and white!
When I first saw Mamma Mia in the theater, I just couldn't stop singing all the words to all the songs (I think people were annoyed).
Mamma Mia has been on HBO every night. Watched it every night and the thing is...I own the movie!!!
Hope you enjoy the movie as much as I do...
Loving Annabelle (2006)
Chosen ending vs. Alternate ending
Has anyone seen this on DVD and seen the alternate ending? I strongly feel the director made a mistake and chose the wrong ending. The alternate ending was the right way to go because the entire movie was leading to that ending. It wasn't a fairytale ending - it was realistic. I was left feeling unsatisfied. I felt the gay image in the movies just took two steps backwards.
As for the acting, the two leading ladies are excellent. Erin's eyes are so mesmerizing - she got a rise out of me. The characters all held their own.
And I love the soundtrack. Great songs!
P.S. - I clicked on spoiler just to be on the safe side. I really don't know if I spoiled anything.
Spooks (2002)
From Across The Pond
I've been hooked and reeled. I absolutely love MI-5/Spooks. I rented all the available series and I crave for more. I'm anxiously waiting for 2005 to become available. The characters are unique and intriguing. The story lines are complex and luring. The acting is top form. As far as I'm concerned nothing here in the U.S. comes close. We had Mission Impossible (covert missions and fancy gadgetry) but MI-5 is fathoms richer, and smart. I'm a loyal fan of Keeley Hawes first finding her in Tipping the Velvet and recently viewed Our Mutual Friend. She's an outstanding actress and her MI-5 colleagues perform with such command of the art. As far as I'm concerned the BBC can do no wrong.
