Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
A bitter pill, but not the healthy kind
In general I didn't really enjoy this.
The budget Jackie Chan was my favourite.
My overwhelming feeling from this film is that a cautionary tale about being happy with your lot in life and not wishing for greater things would be far more compelling had it not come directly from a company which makes billions of pounds and doesn't have to live by the rules which everyone else does; not to mention it is portrayed by actors who famously are not happy with their lot in life and eternally strive for greater wealth and notoriety.
But what do I know, I'm just an extra.
The initial notion was good, but the storyline was lazy and poorly delivered.
The Lost City (2022)
They could have killed/maimed Radcliffe
I'd have rated it higher if they had given Daniel Radcliffe a gruesome ending.
But other than that, Romancing the stone still beats this film in every way, I suggest people just watch that instead.
Paper Man (2009)
Not a comedy
This is in no way a comedy.
It isn't a terrible film, but it's like ordering a pizza and being given a cucumber sandwich. A cucumber sandwich is inoffensive, maybe a niche taste and you definitely have to be in the mood for it, but if you've ordered a pizza and a cucumber sandwich arrives, it really isn't going to do what you want and you're not going to enjoy it.
I did not enjoy this film.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
A good legacy
I enjoyed this.
It was more in keeping with the originals than the horror show which came in between and in general I would say it was super.
I was particularly pleased with most parts of this film.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Reasonable entertaining
It didn't really seem to know what audience it was going for and, so far as I could tell, missed most of them.
That said, it was a mildly entertaining distraction from life for a short while.
Boss Level (2020)
They forgot to film the ending
Call me old fashioned but I really like my films to finish.
This fad for films to be "left open for interpretation" will surely end in films where they introduce some characters briefly and then just invite you to imagine your own story.
I paid for a story, I want a god damn story with an ending.
Infuriating.
Up to that point the rubbish start had been mainly made up for and o was enjoying it.
