I was a huge fan of The L Word, and was quite excited when I heard it was coming back. That said, upon watching season one of Generation Q, I was a little disappointed. I didn't hate it, but it certainly didn't compare to the original series. I felt disconnected, didn't warm to the new characters and it felt very different from the original.
I'm glad I stuck with it, as it's definitely found it's feet, especially from season 2 and continuing on form in season 3. I've now connected with the new generation of characters, and that good old vibe has somewhat returned. It does lack a little of the seriousness of the original, but the heart is still there. Aside from the musical episode which was, well, I'm still not sure how I feel about that episode, it certainly wasn't terrible and a long missed character returned.
I do hope Generation Q continues for another few seasons, as I'm definitely now a big fan, and crave more episodes.
