Dogma (1999)
Go back and leave this body!!!
I can't recall all the endless reasons why you should not waste your time with this movie. What I most certainly recall is that "Dogma" was, undoubtedly, the worst movie I saw last year (2000). Apart from the introduction and the initial sketch on the "restyling" of Jesus, all the rest seems predictable and farfetched. It would be mindnumbing, if it wasn´t for the fact that you are zealously kept awake all the time. Because just when you thought you were safe, the film drags you further down the spiral of bad taste and intellectual presumption. Which is by far the main reason of my discontentment, for never before has a bad film aimed so high. For a good example of what "Dogma" could have been, go back to your local video rental and take another look at Monty Python's "Life of Brian". Godspeed.
The Indian Runner (1991)
Penn meets Springsteen
There's a minor detail on "The Indian Runner" that makes it worth seeing, at least for all the fans of Bruce Springsteen. Both the plot and the main characters must have been based on a song by "The Boss", "Highway Patrolman". One advice, though. Bear in mind that Springsteen is Springsteen and Penn is... Penn.
