Penguins of Madagascar (2014)
Leopard seals, nature's snakes!
Penguins of Madagascar is spin-off of the movie "Madagascar", in which it's popular penguin characters, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private, get their own movie.
I'm going to start by saying the character Private (voiced by Christopher Knights) is just such a hilarious and adorable character. Really one of the main highlights of the movie.
The movie started off pretty good. It's fun, the characters are likeable and the humour is fantastic. The story was going great places until the end, then it started to become all sloppy. Like the storywriters had a plan for it but then forgot it so just looked for the easiest way to wrap things up. Nothing hard to predict or particularly heartwarming happens, and you're left with no obvious message.
Let's move on to the movie's villain, an octopus called Dave. Throughout his life, Dave has been rejected from zoo after zoo due to him not being as cute as penguins. Sad, right? Now, he is desperate to have revenge on penguins by making them hideous. Sure, not a nice plan, but for a character who's had such a hard life, I'd have thought he deserved to feel loved and accepted at the end. But instead of getting a somewhat happy ending, he is somehow trapped inside a snowglobe, which is bought by a little kid who's likely to end up smashing the snow globe and killing him.
To round up, Penguins of Madagascar is a really funny, exciting and pretty enjoyable movie with a somewhat lazy storyline. 6/10.
Pikuniku (2019)
My Rating for Pikiniku
Pikuniku is challenging and yet entertaining puzzle-game, with a charming look, likeable characters and a bunch of good laughs packed in. It's just the right level of difficulty, in my opinion; hard but doable. Very satisfying and fun to play!
Grease 2 (1982)
It's better than the original!
It's a perfect musical, the story and plot line are really great and the songs are so catchy.
Every dance number is so perfect - they must have taken ages to practice!
But the characters are quite empty, I suppose. In the original, the characters were all very lovable and strong.
I'm going to give it a 7/10.
