One of a Kind Romantic Film
11 April 2024
This is one of my favorite romance films. I love the dialogue. The way it's artfully shot. I like the casting and humor. I love the ending.

There are some moments that feel a little out of place. One of the supporting characters isn't my favorite.

The backstory of the characters makes sense.

I first saw this movie years ago and thinking about it still makes me feel things. It's rare that I find a romantic movie that stays with me and not only that but brings such a depth like 5 to 7. It's an honest and beautiful movie that makes you think.

Funny...But Funky
19 December 2023
Personally, I'm not a fan of the CG- the kids have huge heads and the kindergarteners are creepy.

I kind of wish they chose someone else to play Leo- Adam Sandler is mid.

There a few hilarious moments and quite a few heart warming moments.

The song about not crying was uncomfortable and weird for a kids movie. The songs are so awkward and could be excluded to improve the movie. Definitely unnecessary and awkward.

Overall the storyline is really good and the humor is decent. I wouldn't watch it again or recommend it to other people though. It didn't need to be over an hour. It was like the editors didn't want to cut anything from the script.

Just wow
10 November 2023
This is such a cool movie! It's been a long time since I felt this excited about an animated film. The animation is amazing! The vibe reminds me of animated Teen Titans and even a little bit of how I felt watching Power Puffs as a little girl.

It's not just action: it's a fresh story line with interesting and diverse characters, the familiar spiderman family angle, and plenty of random fun things throughout (no spoilers!).

I love how Gwen and Miles are portrayed.

It is a little long, but it has a unique way of story telling that keeps the mind engaged throughout.

I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Good Mindless Show
15 October 2023
I like Niecy Nash as the host of this show. Sure, during some episodes it seems like she would rather be some place else... but honestly that's relatable and I'd probably feel the same after the seventeenth episode of hosting this show. I'm a fan of whoever does her wardrobe and it's cool to see her interact with her wife and the band. And don't understand the complaints from previous reviewers about her voice.

Some of the singers are surprisingly good and/or have good stories. The variety of songs could use some work. But in the second season it feels like the bring out some more modern hits. It's a mindless show and good for its purpose.

A Story About Family
19 June 2023
More than a romance story this is a story about life's ups and downs, family, and people's personal growth journeys. I like that this movie doesn't stray from a realistic path. It's not overly emotional but puts emphasis on life's truly hard moments. The main perspectives are relationships- between husband and wife (and vaguely extended family), mother and son, and first loves.

There are some plot holes- where was the proposal, what was the note that Jim received when he was working? Some of the holes seem intentional to show the passing of time but I feel like filling out other details would have added more depth to the characters.

Overall a very solid story but I really think this storyline could have taken viewers many places and I wish we saw more character depth.

I also don't know if a younger audience would get much out of this. As someone almost to the middle of life I appreciate the wisdom but it lacks a spark, which life is also full of.

Good But Long
4 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I made it through one and a half seasons. I might come back in the future but am pretty sure I've seen all I care to. I'm really glad I took the time to watch season one. Love the dynamic characters and plot line but it just became to repetitive. I keep hoping for it to pick up speed or for new things to be introduced. Superman is one of my favorite superheros so I do really enjoy it being an origin story and seeing CW's take on his formative years and the people who help Clark become who he is.

I also enjoy seeing Lex battle with his conflicts and trying to believe in people. The way the story writes it you're not completely sure if he could be committed to something outside his personal interests- but there is still hope.

The slow burn between Lana and Clark is irritating and gets old. I do like that they gave Clark a love interest in Kyra and that they start diversifying a little bit as the show goes on (obv could use a little more but it's early 2000's so my expectations are low). If the show were condensed a little bit more or there were recaps at the beginning of the episodes I think I could power through a little longer.

Interesting End
17 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It seems like the writers just wanted to be done toward the end of the last season. While I do think the last season is the best I'm definitely confused by the ending scene for Kate. It was done too quickly and makes it seem like she hits one road block and runs away- taking her coworkers with her. I think if they developed her arch more gradually it would seem believable or resonated better.

Without a doubt Solone's character arch was the best of all. She's probably the best actor in this show if not top three. I really enjoyed the ending for Anne and Val too. They seem to grow as characters and the endings seem realistic enough.

And what happened with Jenny? She is a deplorable character the whole show but in the last episode they gloss over her trying to be better for her daughter? Don't blink or you'll miss her motivation for the change in her.

Overall the show is fine. I don't think I'll be recommending it to my friends simply because it was so fickle writing wise... but it was fine.

Marry S1 and S2
6 March 2023
Season 1 was so well done. I liked the emphasis on the designs, the layout, how the critiques took place in the back after the runway show. Season 2 has more colors and is fun but the editing is so awful. I get a headache watching it and can't really focus on the designs. It's not what I would expect from a competition type show- more like what I'd see on a tik tok. Did they run out of qualified applicants for their editing department?

In S2 I feel like we don't get enough time on the designs and design process. I don't mind Gigi as a host but did enjoy Alexa more. Overall the focus doesn't SEEM to be on the designs and how they're presented to viewers.

Marry S1 and S2 and they could have a great S3. If Season 3 is like Season 2 I won't bother watching.

Perfect Balance
11 October 2022
I love that this show is similar but not identical to The Rookie. Character development is starting out strong. It's humorous and intriguing but lighthearted.

Each of the characters have their own backstories and motivations that peaked my interest. But the main character, Simone, carries the show well.

Yes, at first it got under my skin that the main character, Simone, didn't follow the rules- but her wins and heart and good luck make for a character that's easy to root for. I can't wait to see what crime she solves next and how she gets there.

The father and daughter dynamic is also flawless.

I'm excited to see where this show goes next.

Unexpectedly Pleasant
4 October 2022
I kept waiting for the moment this film would shove an angle down my throat: one about how a woman should give up her dreams and let a man save her, or one of the million other tired and outdated plotlines. But it actually did a great job of letting the main character save herself. It highlights friendship and career journey in a meaningful way.

Unexpected motherhood didn't end her life or magically make her ambitions disappear. The reality is that having a baby does reorganize your life but you get back to a place where you have time and energy to go back to the things that make you, you. There was so much empathy as Hannah struggled to grow and figure out how to make motherhood mesh with who she was. That's so real and definitely not talked about like this often enough.

There was a little bit of cheese but the light hearted moments were balanced well. I would watch this movie a second time. And I thought the lead actors did a great job.

Fantastic Addition to Marvel
21 July 2022
I've really enjoyed the first season of Ms. Marvel. I like that she is not the same as all other superheroes- that she acknowledges that herself. I hadn't read her comic books before watching the show but love the family aspect and the care to show her culture. Not unlike all other superheroes we get a true sense of who she is, where she comes from, and what matters to her. This first season made me laugh, cry, and learn. I'm excited for the next season.

Where's the comedy?
23 June 2022
What made The Orville was the blend of thought provoking story line, unique characters, and COMEDY. But the comedy seems to be missing in the latest season. It feels like it's just another sci-fi show cosplaying as every other sci-fi hit. It's now too boring to stomach.

Falls Flat
25 February 2022
Really wanted to like this show. Love Hilary Duff and HIMYM and generally enjoy comedy tv shows. But the script is cringe worthy, the characters are hard to empathize with, and it just seems rushed and out of touch. The only thing I think is going well is the costume design and Josh Peck. If this show ended tomorrow I wouldn't miss it. They could do so much better than this hot mess.

Interesting
1 January 2022
Loved the LGBTQ representation and how positive all the relationships were framed. It could have easily gone off the rails but there are too many garbage tv shows like that. It was what you would expect from 8 young adults living together and navigating life. Abby was a little annoying but it looked like she worked through some of her issues. I thought it was cute and sweet to see how their friendships and journeys evolved. I binged it because it's not your typical reality tv show. I hope they do this in other cities in the future.

Decent
21 November 2021
This show is entertaining and goes into the deep, beautiful melting pot that makes America beautiful. But it's awkward seeing Padma flirt so point blank with nearly every man she comes across (with cheap jokes about genitalia). If that happened once or twice it'd be fine but multiple times per episode is actually awkward.

More than an interesting idea
22 October 2021
I don't find the switching confusing, myself. But I do think this show is getting better at transitioning as it goes on. I think the rockstar storyline is over the top and looks a little cheap which takes away from how captivating it could be. But the subtleties of the other two storylines make up for it. The use of music is touching and the actors do a really great job. The politician character feels like it's reaching but missing the mark slightly- none the less I expect the show to keep getting better.

More Mo Please
7 April 2020
Everytime Mo sings I get chills. Their cover of that Kelly Clarkson song was amazing and I wish that they added this to Spotify. This episode seems to be next level overall. Really loving the character development and the choreography in this show as well.
