Osmosis (2019)
I enjoyed it and then. . .
I.enjoyed this show for the most part. No true heroes, just people struggling with their demons and hoping to find a better way of life. The science made sense to me, not that I understand it completely but I got the list of it. Pretty solid acting and a storyline that was fairly engaging.
And then. . .
It all fell apart in the last two episodes. The female scientis ffalling in love and making love to an AI? A company who just put a ton of people into a coma and everyone being, aww shucks I am sure it's fine. Then OMG, that clichéd person sacrifices itself, but then is reborn. Don't even begin to try and explain that to me. HThe AI somehow created a replica of himself, put his AI mind into it and now they can live happily ever after? WTF. Let alone she sacrificed herself, but wait she comes back, even though it was impossible. Then the AI sacrifices itself and comes back even though that was supposed to be impossible.
The main characters were horrible and didn't deserve a happy ending. That was such bull. That hackneyed ending wasn't satisfying to anyone.
Niehls a out kills a girl, but then she wants him back
Umm, shouldn't we be telling women to get out of abusive relationships? I mean is that girl that stupid. Love changed his deviant ways? The one guy almost loses the man he loves because of the program, but aww thats OK. How surprising the subject that was going to betray them has a last second change of heart as the man who she lied to came back out of the blue at just the right moment.
Really, it just makes me angry how this ended. End it with lives being ruined, people dying, feed us a warning about AI and messing with nature. I don't know what the point of this ending was our what message it was supposed to have. Give these miserable characters the misery they deserve. We are big boys and girls, we can take it. The forced happy ending was just stupid.
Pieces of Her (2022)
Suspend disbelief.
It is ok for a quick binge, but be prepared to suspend your disbelief for the entirety of the show as it only gets worse as it progresses.
Not very likable characters overall. Found myself not really rooting for anyone as they are all pretty flawed. Even the protagonists have you keeping yelling at them "How stupid are you.:" I thought Andy was portrayed poorly. However there is some pretty good intrigue and it makes you want to see what will happen next.
From slipping into trunks of cars, hiding behind shower curtains to well. . . Just about anything that happens it is all so improbable. These FBI agents are terrible and the criminals are no better. Get past that, you will have a decent experience.
Imawa no Kuni no Arisu (2020)
A breath of fresh air.
Amazing show. Believable characters reacting in believable ways. Main character is so likable unlike so many now days. He isn't infallible, he definitely has flaws, but in the end you cheer for him to m overcome obstacles, not for his death like in other Netflix series I have watched lately I like they flesh out each character, even the villains have stories to them that we get to explore. Extremely complex characters.
Even the games are well thought out. I looked forward to what was coming next. They had complexity and variety, not just the same versions over and over again
Throw in some twists and turns to keep you guessing, beautiful music score, beautiful set designs. Just so happy I let myself take a chance on this one.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Crush (2009)
Ugh
Always disliked this episode because the ending was so contrived. SVU is always fast and loose with the rules of law, but this was ridiculous. No way the final scene is ever allowed to occur. Besides Stabler never testified in her court before? She would accept a bribe when she knows she is being closely watched? This was clearly a case of entrapment and would never go anywhere. Everyone in that court room would have lost their jobs and disbarred. The case would have never been put before her to begin with. It is insulting.
De twaalf (2019)
Great Series
Really enjoyed it. Captured my attention, moved at a good pace. I enjoyed the in depth look into the characters and the variety of angles explored. Each character they delved into had an interesting and unique perspective. Obviously not all juries are going to have these type of stories to them, but it does help remind you what each jury member brings to the table.
I am writing this before the last episode, because sometimes last episodes really let me down by having some lame twist and I don't want that to discolor my opinion.
My biggest takeaway? Their legal system is crazy! And not very good.
Exposed: The Case of Keli Lane (2018)
Thought it was good until I look into it more.
This title has been torn to shreds by people involved in the case using actual evidence and destroyed the speculation purported. Really disappointing.
