Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Def. not Oscar worthy
Sitting through the first 30 minutes was hell. Trying to keep up with whatever was happening was exhausting. The characters were definitely trying too hard, everything about this film was outrageous. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody I know :)
Sometimes a very "unique" movie makes the cut, and gains a lot of attention-"EEAaO" was it this time around for the Oscars. The fact that it won 7 out of its 11 nominations does not make it a great movie, just a lucky one-the Academy just perceived it as a great one, but it's not.
I strongly disagree with some of the Oscars it won, including Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh)-it is clear that these two awards should've gone to Angela Bassett for her performance in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", and Cate Blanchett for her performance in "Tár". Snubs aren't really strange at the Oscars, it happens all the time, but what a shame for the other great films and actors that could've won.
And Just Like That... (2021)
Tried too hard...
The 8 star rating is because I'm a die-hard SATC fan but I do believe they tried too hard to make this happen. Where do I begin...? Ah' I know... no Samantha, really? No Mr. Big, really? The whole point of SATC was the strong bond between these four women... and then there were three. Additionally, introducing new characters isn't always a bad thing but let's face it... Sara Ramirez is not funny! We will see what future episodes hold but so far, meh.......
Central Park (2020)
Bitsy is the best the show's got...
Yes, it's a musical, so songs are expected. This is not why the 6/10 rating. First, this show shouldn't even be compared to Bob's Burgers - they're the real thing. The storyline here is all over the place, the characters are just lame and beyond stupid - all of them for that matter except for Bitsy, that one makes me laugh every time (even with her songs). There are too many things wrong with this show... and yes, I agree with the reviews that state Season 1 was better than 2 - no brainer. It really is a shame, a show with such potential to be this MEH it's a real disappointment / missed opportunity from the creators of BB.
The White Princess (2017)
Maggie is the best character...
I've had this show in my list for months now... now that it's on Prime I figured, what better time? Oh man... I wish I could get those 8hrs back! They tried to pack so much in that last episode is horrendous! And yes, I'm a Jodie Comer fan, still didn't help.
El desorden que dejas (2020)
What did I just watch?
I'm ashamed of having spent time watching this POS... I knew it was similar to "Elite" but crap, this was incredible... horrible storyline, characters were just odd and things did not add up.
I knew the dog was going to die... May I just say, it simply didn't need to happen. Not because it's just cruel but the character that "killed" it was just pointless to use as the dog killer.
1/10 stars is giving this too much... horrible!!!
Mulan (2020)
Boo Disney!!!
Really? This storyline isn't the same. I had read articles before the movie came out but it really is a POS. Don't waste your time... really... laugh so you don't cry! Shame on Disney, shame on anyone that thought this live action would be a good idea and well received by the audience / true Disney fans!!!!!!!
Alta mar (2019)
Season 3, more like WTH?
I enjoyed Season 1, it was entertaining more than anything. Season 2 was too much (had originally rated this 8/10), and season 3 is the biggest POS ever (hence my 2/10 rating)!
I feel most people watch TV to get away from reality; and sadly the reality we live in now in these uncertain 'COVID' times... so the last thing anyone would want to watch is how a virus infects a ship... and the storyline behind it, which is pretty stupid may I add! Such a shame, really.
I have no clue what's happening to these Spanish series, Cable Girls' season finale was STUPID, Locked Up Season 5, absurd, and now this High Seas Season 3 - get it together!!!!!
My Best Friend's Wedding (1997)
Big disappointment
I have been a fan of Julia Roberts for a long time now, her movies are just fun to watch and the characters she usually plays are just pretty good (Notting Hill, Secret in their Eyes, Erin Brockovich, etc.)... This film has been on my radar for a few months now but I must say, her character here (Julianne) is beyond trashy and the storyline is stupid!
A woman ventures to ruin a wedding and despite everything she tries, the outcome isn't what she wished for - the plot is ridiculous and unrealistic... it would had been so much better had she ended up with Rupert Everett (George). Additionally, Cameron Diaz's character (Kim) is so stupid - never should you trust your fiancé's BFF like that, specially when they got history!
I don't recommend this film AT ALL! Giving it two stars because it's Julia Roberts after all, LOL!
#AnneFrank - Parallel Stories (2019)
Great story, horrible filming!
I knew of Anne Frank and her diaries; so I was really excited when I saw this documentary on Netflix. I gave it 8 stars because of the storyline and the narrator (Helen Mirren is great!), but the actual film is just not ideal to the viewer.
Why the focus on social media? I can understand how they were trying to get Katerina (present) to relate to Anne and the survivors (past) but it was totally unnecessary. Had they focused on Anne's life; her story; the story of the other women; this would had made an incredible well filmed documentary; but instead it was ruined by adding the extra stuff it truly didn't need.
I am happy I got to know more about Anne Frank's life but I tell you this; Katerina and her hashtags was simply annoying!!!
365 dni (2020)
Take it down Netflix - CRAP!
A few people told me about this movie and it showed as being #1 on Netflix - so I thought; "alright; this may be a wannabe Fifty Shades; I'll give it a try"... hours wasted!
How can this be a film? The plot is stupid; the acting is SO bad, the events that unfold don't follow a flow; or make any sense, and it did make me cringe! I feel bad saying "I've watched this 'movie'" - do yourself a favor and stay away from this; you'll be wasting your time!
