Midnight Mass (2021)

Could have been an 8 or 9, but became a 5, negative religion feel

I LOVED the ...Bly Manor..." and "...Hill House..." by the same Creator! However, Religious statements by the "Father" (religious leader) are often so wrong. The author either intentionally did this to show: 1) how wrong thinking the "Father" was, or is 2) making a negative statement about Christianity in general.

If 1) above, my concern is that a lot of people will not understand how wrong the Father's views are about Christianity because they are mixing in truth, with things that are wrong. Someone from other religions, or not a Christian for a long time, will be left with a wrong view of Christ.

The whole negative religion feel really made the series disappointing, esp. When the bad information was presented as fact (a twisted fact but not obviously) !

Also, ...Bly... & ...Manor House... are Mystery Thrillers but Midnight Mass is more horror story with added bad religion. Horror is easy, Mystery Thriller is hard and better.

.. I could have given this a 8 or 9 but give it a 5.

River (2015)

River Great actors, sad story line

The acting in this is great but the story line is sad. The male leads situation is sad and since a couple of key people causing this sadness are dead, it will not get better.
