Let Them All Talk (2020)
I paid for this?
I subscribed to HBOMax just to watch this movie and I was sorely disappointed. I was so looking forward to this wonderful cast and I knew that most of the dialogue was adlibbed but it was almost like these women couldn't hold a conversation.
I watched 30 minutes and gave up; I'll give it another try to finish it.
And after browsing the offerings on HBOMax, it doesn't really appeal to me, so will cancel that. And probably will cancel regular HBO.
Holidate (2020)
I'm getting old....
I am no prude but I winced at all the obscenities and sexual references. Script and direction were just meh.
The only good thing about this movie was Luke Bracey
Fashionably Yours (2020)
Worst Hallmark movie ever
I watch a lot of Hallmark movies and series and this is by far the worst.
Zero chemistry between the two leads and Kendrick Sampson's acting is on par with a stick figure.
Storyline was ridiculous, dialogue stilted, and supporting cast tried hard to rescue this mess.
Murder Mystery (2019)
Charming movie!
Ok, so it's not Citizen Kane, it's not the Godfather. But it was refreshing to watch a movie sans bad language and what turned into a sweet comedy.
I'm not a fan of Adam Sandler but this movie and Blended changed my mind.
Jennifer Aniston did a credible job as a hairdresser. She does best in this comedies and rom-coms although she was pretty impressive in Dumplin'.
Wish we had seen more of Luke Evans! After his first scene with Aniston, my tongue was hanging out - oh boy!
Window Wonderland (2013)
Really good Hallmark holiday movie!
This film deviates from the typical Hallmark boy-meets-girl formula in that it has a clever, witty script and two stars whose chemistry is palpable.
As one of the side characters remarks of the two, "Bickering is a sign of affection."
The script is very well written, and reminds me of classics with Tracy and Hepburn. Paul Campbell is adorable and Chyler Leigh is the perfect foil to his annoying witticisms.
Add to that scene-stealer Naomi Judd and you have a truly enjoyable movie.
Jack Strong (2014)
Great movie for intelligent audience
I am a Patrick Wilson fan and have been watching several of his movies on Amazon.
I'm not one for political thrillers, but I'm a Polish-American and the subject matter appealed. I was expecting a typical Tom Clancy-type action movie but what a terrific surprise this was! I was skeptical about the production, but this was extremely well done - the cinematography was top notch, the dialogue was superb, acting and directing were excellent.
A truly great touch was that Polish actors played Polish characters, Russians played Russians, Americans played Americans - no Hollywood-ization of this story. If Hollywood had made this film, you could expect no less than George Clooney or Matt Damon in the lead for purpose of box office returns $$$$.
This movie was a 48-hour rental, and I started to watch it late at night, expecting to only view the first few minutes and then finish the next day, but I was on the edge of my seat and watched it straight through.
If you're looking for blood and guts action thrillers or sophomoric, geeky films, this is not for you.
Highly recommended.
