Jury Duty (2023)
Funny engaging entertaining good wholesome fun
This show is a delight! Endearing & funny! I laughed out loud so many times and have already watched the series a second time less than a week after watching it the first time. It's a real treat to watch again after the reveal is pure entertainment GOLD!
James Marsden is hilarious in this role and must have had so much fun, as well as the other actors.
The HERO is so genuine & kind & caring. It's rewarding having a good-guy hero/main character. I'm so happy for his win. All in all this is a show to give you the warm fuzzies while also giving you oodles of laughs.
Do yourself a favor and watch this show.
SmartLess: On the Road (2023)
A fun entertaining watch
I love all three of these guys and I had never heard of the podcast but I LoVE Will Ferrell (saw an as with him on the show which is why I watched) so I watched ep1 and then couldn't stop! Binged them all and had a great time!!! It's a fun romp, so when you want to be entertained, do yourself a favor and check out this show. It made me laugh, I thought it was sweet to see the relationship of the three main guys and all the guests were fun and I liked the behind the scenes and the getting to know the backstory of each of their lives and I enjoyed having their partners/ spouses/ kids/ friends interact also. That depth touched me. Overall I enjoyed this show very much.
Joel Kim Booster: Psychosexual (2022)
Funny quirky show speaks to my heart
So happy Joel Kim Booster has a platform to share his unique perspective with wit, cleverness, style, and ease...without rancor & cynicism. This show was a bright spot in my day & I'm glad I chose it to watch.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
The best movie in a really really really long time
1995 was the last year a movie impacted me so deeply & profoundly in almost every way, as this one. A movie to scramble your brain while simultaneously rearranging your soul back to wholeness again. Everything Everywhere All at Once is this type of movie. Do not miss it. I recommend you like irreverent humor, family dynamics, The Matrix, and impeccable screenwriting. You are going to have a blast and anchor deeper into your self watching this movie. Congrats.
Under sandet (2015)
Powerful, painful, haunting, unforgettable, redemptive
One of the most painful and powerful movies I've ever seen. Took me two days to watch because of the heavy topic but this is a must see for any cinephile or fan of historical dramas.
This movie is completely deserving of the Oscar for best foreign film/best international movie. The acting is riveting and the characters so authentic and raw. I'm the first person to select a comedy but I also watch all the Oscar nominated movies, no matter what category, or how dull (good grief) ...but this movie riveted me wholly and I am so thankful to myself that I committed to watching this film that captures a sad part of WWII history, which parallels some of what Ukraine is going through and will go through as they persevere with the war and invasion Russia is committing right now.
Do yourself a favor, and when your mind and heart is ready, watch this movie.
Beatriz at Dinner (2017)
NOT a COMEDY!!!!!!!!!
This movie is in no way shape or form a comedy. Labeling it so should result in jail time. Do NOT watch this if you're in a funk & looking for a comedy to lighten your mood. It won't. It will make you feel worse.
Ted Lasso: Beard After Hours (2021)
Love Beard & his party pants
I'm a die hard Ted Lasso fan & found this unconventional episode delightful. Unfairly low rated. Love seeing the man behind the beard! Any episode where the ghost man gets to shine is an episode I'm a fan of. Bring on more stories exposing the depth of character development!
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
Not many laughs.
I'm a huge Dave fan; he is incredibly insightful & smart, but this special was simply Not funny. I'm not a cancel culture advocate but I do want equality & inclusion but mostly what I want us to LAUGH!! And I just didn't! Don't call yourself a comedian if you're not trying to make people laugh. I want to be entertained at the end of a stressful day or work week. I laugh more reading a buzzfeed article.
Jenny Slate: Stage Fright (2019)
Uncomfortable & unfunny
Not funny. Barely laughed. Was an awkward, uncomfortable watch. She must have got this gig via nepotism because it's certainly not because she's good at stand up.
Hacks (2021)
Funny, smart, insightful show you must watch!
One of the best new shows streaming!! Jean Smart is a treasure! She is fantastic & beyond deserving of this star role. Her supporting cast are equally talented, funny & diverse, and I laugh out loud each episode. Thank you for making a female-centric show that's ultra funny and highly enjoyable to watch (love the Vegas glitz & costumes) with real relationships, their strengths and their challenges.
How to with John Wilson (2020)
Brilliant observational humor in NYC, the best city in the world
This show is a laugh riot from beginning to end. Only in New York City can a show like this successfully exist because NYC has literally everything, from the most random to the most refined to life-ling NY residents to immigrants and all in between. The images & story lines, which sound dull & boring, quickly become hilarious & relatable. I hope John Wilson becomes the next Larry David. He's a beacon of humor in these dark covid times & I eagerly look forward to each episode so I can forget about my day in my tiny little podunk town & revel in the glamor, grunge & hilarity of NYC. Thanks HBO. You legit create the best original programming. It's not tv, it's HBO...and John Wilson 😁
Extra Ordinary (2019)
A funny fun frolic! A fantastic watch
Loved this fun frolic. Perfectly entertaining comedy with brilliant characters & plot. Excellent way to celebrate 94:21 minutes. Do yourself a favor & watch this romp.
Rob Schneider: Asian Momma, Mexican Kids (2020)
Funny & charming show
I laughed so many times. His voices are great, the inclusion of his family is charming & sweet. His jokes are relatable & clever. I created this IMDb account just so I can write a good review. If you want to have a light hearted laugh with your partner or friends, this show fits the bill. And the duet at the end with Elle King is really magnificent. You see their genuine joy in being together, you can feel how much they love & cherish their family, and the song is touching. And wowww what an amazing singer Elle King is.
