Magic Mike's Last Dance (2023)
It's awful till the end, the film drags and drags
It's a very pretentious, patronising, and self indulgent film in female hypocrisy. I think it would have worked if the casting was better. It would have worked if it where about a spoilt rich kid trying to piss off daddy.
Spoiler
The films desire to be politically correct meant it was ok for the female lead to seek to emotional damage her husband while later in the film they lecture us about social rejection equating to physical abuse.
The sad thing is make it a cliche rich girl trying to piss off dad, with a talented yet down and out bad boy, and it's a sexy pleasant film, for young adults.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
Save your time and money
A good cast of character actors and a great lead actress, but you will not be captivated.
What happened to the script?
What happened to the editing?
They didn't pace the film well, and he tried to add depth without a script to a genre of film that just needs to be fun. It's so so disappointing.
Guide never watch a film below a score of 6.
Guide never watch tv show below 7.5
Your time is precious this film is not.
This director has never made a film within these boundaries.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
Fun film and a decent Reboot
Ghostbusters rebooted as a modern day woke film. Great escapism, but I didn't like how the lead was played. She did steal the movie playing the character in a precocious way, but she appeared to have little script to work with.
They played it too safe, expect stranger things meets ghostbusters. It doesn't match up to the first, but it is good compared to the movies around at the moment.
You will not be disappointed going to see this film, so enjoy the film.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021)
I don't want to know what you did last summer
The journey is outstanding, the destination will leave you wishing you didn't take the trip. Sometimes writers try too hard to be original. Just give us a cliche like a split personality or she was not really dead. Good films come in at 6+ good tv 7.5+ I re-rated a sexy show to 6. The ending is incredibly bad please save the time u have for something else.
Birds of Paradise (2021)
Visually Original
Reads as a cliche, that attempts to be an original. The attempt succeeded, in humanising the expected villains of the story. It examines the full variety of motivations of goal driven people and you find yourself rooting for people to find the best version of themself. It manages to reflect who we are, when we are in similar situations. It is not a fairytale in the end, and realistically dark when it should be.
Expect a rich kid poor kid story that is realistic.
What If...? (2021)
Marvel Fans get popcorn.
Twightlight zone meets MCU, it's great if you are a fan. I would have loved some episodes as full films.
If you are a fan of the marvel cinematic universe, you'll be a fan of these. There is enough depth to keep you hooked, but the humor is light. Do not expect to be away with intrigue and you will enjoy the ride. It is far from their best animation series, but it is not worse than season 5 avengers. The plots are also better than some of their films like Shang-Chi.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
HBO Max INFOmercial
This was an infomercial for HBOmax and they got it wrong. Rather than make a genuine attempt at spacejam 2, they allowed their egos to get the better of them. NBA fans would feel disconnected as the real LeBron James plays himself with a fake family. It simply doesn't work on any level. To use this as an advertising vehicle just adds insult to the viewer.
No Time to Die (2021)
Mission Possible if not Probably
It's a mystery thriller that offers no mystery and little thrills. We know the story and watch while the hapless British uncover the dastardly plot. It lacks cliche, spontaneous humour and lacking real escapism that modern blockbusters offer. The artistry of physical acting is poorly filmed, movement art is better elsewhere six is a generous score. The last 30 mins of the film are excellent. I am not sure if that saves the film. The sequence of films are suited for streaming, not cinematic release. You just can't get invested without watching the others first.
