Are we supposed to like some of these characters?
9 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm onto episode 5 and yes it's very slow, but that's not the worst of it. The biggest issue is the characters ** SPOILERS**. Most of them are just so unlikeable, Pretty much everyone on the school trip are just horrible, however the biggest annoyance is the gun toting, trigger happy, attitude problem of an American soldier, he's such a bad character that I want him to die. He's been nothing but arrogant and aggressive to everyone, even those that helped him. The Japanese section of the programme is about the only thing that's keeping me watching now that Sam Neil's story appears to have been forgotten about.

This programme could've been great but if you expect us to like these awful people you're wrong!

Going downhill
18 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Pandora started as a pretty good (not great) SciFi program, nothing different but had interesting characters and a decent story which made up for a poor script. However, the scriptwriters seem to be putting more emphasis on the romance between 2 of the main characters and the show is suffering for it. Especially when the male in the romance is not a great actor. This is just highlighting the poor script as well.

Hopefully the writers saw the same failings and it gets better in the next few eps other I'll be giving up on it permanently

How to ruin your movie in one easy lesson.
22 November 2020
Kristen Stewart is an awful actress. They could have hired the door that saved Rose on the Titanic instead of her and the film would be slightly more watchable. She even brings a normally dependable Vincent Cassells down to her level.

The thing is the film itself could've been ok, with another actor/actress it's just unfortunate she exudes zero charisma, believability or likeability and should remain a background/supporting actor going forward.

Basically an ok movie that could have been a 6 or 7 ruined by a bad casting choice.

What?? (Spoilers)
1 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
When is a Dalek not a Dalek?? When Chris Chibnall writes!!

I don't get his obsession with rebooting absolutely everything. I came into this season with a clear mind but had to give up on this series halfway through due to its boring and badly written stories which made the stars look like poor actors.

I get the feeling Chibnall didn't actually like Dr Who and took the job for the paycheck.

I tuned into this hoping for better since the rumour was the Daleks would be back, however this was awful, the new rebooted Dalek looked like it had the top half of Metal Mickey or Robbie the Robot, and in its "squid" form was seriously unscary and dull.

Add into this some really unfunny 'jokes' - "we'll have to talk to each other" after the Internet went down was no doubt intended for belly laughs but only got awkward eye rolling in this house!!

Jodie Whittaker said the other day that she has proved that a woman Doctor works - I'd say she's only proved it could work but not with Chibnall at the helm and unfortunately not with Whittaker.

Chibnall is now right Dr Who does need a reboot, one away from him and one away from Whittaker!!

A great show ruined and when even the ultimate classic foe can't save an episode, it's time to admit something has gone seriously wrong that only drastic action can save.

Actually OK but writing is stupid
25 March 2017
I actually quite like this program- it's entertaining enough, the acting is surprisingly good and the premise isn't bad (the movie is excellent). There is some massive flaws though H.G and the Ripper have both adapted to the twenty first century as if they've only jumped 5-10 years not 129!!!! In the first episode John went to the pawn shop as if he'd been at one many times before and seemed to already know what his pawn was worth in the 21st century. They had no problems with mobile phones, laptops etc and worst of all recognised round security cameras that were designed to look like lights!! Hmmm is all this stuff standard in 1888?? The guys also seem a little too clean cut for 19th century men looking like they've just finished surfing at the beach. If you want to turn off your brain and not think too much about these things then you'll enjoy yourself otherwise it'll set your OCD into overdrive oh and did I mention that the woman who plays Jane just happens to be the most gorgeous woman on TV?? No?? Well she is!!!

Big problem with this film
16 February 2009
Maybe I'm getting old - but this film wasn't good - thats because it has a fundamental problem. In a slasher film you really need to care about the people and in this film they are mostly so annoying that you almost hope they are gonna be killed - from the "Token Black Dude" who plays the race card to get out of doing things to the spoilt brat rich kid - The only feelings I had for these people were that I hope Jason gets them. Not really what you want for building up what little tension there is in this movie. The deaths in this film are signposted so far ahead that it takes away from any surprise and shocks that you may have gotten. Its a big disappointment and I only hope they do better with the Nightmare on Elm Street remake.
