Dominion (2018)
Instant vegan 🌱
This film opened my eyes far too wide to ever close them again. That evening I became fully vegan and have not looked back since. THANK YOU to those involved in making this, you're the heroes we all need.
Blood Red Sky (2021)
Certainly at 7.8/10
Okay so I've put 10 star purely because the 1 star reviews are absolute horse s**t to balance it out.
Yes there are some flaws, yes it's kinda predictable but it's a hell of a ride.
The child actor isn't half as annoying as people make out, he's no Indiana Jones child sidekick annoying. I liked him, he's smart, loves his mum and overall knows what he has to do.
The make up is fantastic (ears could've been worked on a bit), the script isn't mind blowing but the action makes up for it.
I really did think vampire movies had seen their day after 30 days of night (excellent film) then Twilight came out (also, don't hate it but hardly a hardcore vampire film), but this really did revive the genre and I hope they start bringing out more vampire horrors instead of zombies.
Enjoyable, give it ago 😊
The Good Liar (2019)
Great great film.
One amazingly talented actor and one brilliantly talented actress come together and create a really solid film.
I wanted to watch it again in the same day so my husband could watch it with me. When I finally convinced him days later he absolutely loved it.
Loved the twists and turns, loved the revenge, perfect acting, very clever, and utterly enjoyable.
Last Christmas (2019)
Best Christmas film ever ever.
Okay so who doesn't love Clarke? She's great in any role so that's the only reason I decided to watch it - yes in August, I'm one of those people who are on countdown already.
Acting great, heart warming, lovely twist - made me and husband fill up, enjoyed the comedy so much, just flipping great.
Can't wait till it's closer to Christmas so I can watch with my mum & step dad, they'll love it 😃
Island Zero (2018)
Okay
For a low budget movie the acting was really very good. The storyline was pretty decent. There weren't too many 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING' moments which for most horror/thriller films now mostly comprise of. The 'creatures' were shockingly designed and executed but that's due to the budget of course.
The ending could've been better, it felt a little rushed.
All in all it was okay, I didn't find myself wanting to turn it off, but my husband said it's the worst film he's ever seen. So... mixed reviews ha ha.
Outlander (2014)
My favourite series ever created.
No GoT, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Walking Dead or Hannibal just does not beat Outlander for me.
Perfect acting, intense storylines, romance, murder, betrayal, the beautiful Scottish Highlands and just brutal.
Mine and my husbands favourite series. 10/10 all the way.
Echoes of Fear (2018)
Worst acting since acting was created.
Okay, so this is my first ever review but I feel like people NEED to be warned for the absolutely shocking acting by the main character. Utterly hopeless, she can't even look shocked or walk down some stairs like a human would. It sent me and my husband crazy how totally irritating her damn voice was and the relief when she wasn't on the screen. The rat was a better actor.
HOWEVER the jump scares are really very good, and some certainly catch you off guard. If they could've just extended the budget to a remotely decent actress and a few tweaks this film would've been a solid 7.5.
