Let the Right One In (2022)
Surprisingly good
I've seen both the original movie and the US adaptation. And always felt like it deserved a part two. This tv-series puts a nice twist on the original story by expanding the setting, introducing new characters and more. I really like what they did with it, honestly. I enjoy the fact that they are trying to give more details about the vampire virus while also focusing on what it's like for those suffering from it and their daily struggle to keep up appearances. I am glad that they changed some things and not just remake the movie into a tv-series. The casting is pretty good and after finishing the second episode, I am really hooked. I am curious to see where they will take the show. The reason why it's not so popular is because it's not on a major streaming service like "Netflix". But give it a try and you'll be surprised.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Does anyone remember "Deep Impact"?
I enjoyed the satire of this movie. I have nothing bad to say about it. Very good acting and really hits close to home in terms of making fun of today's society. So yes, I enjoyed this part. But I loved the last 30 minutes of the movie. The last good comet/asteroid/end of world movie was "Deep Impact", almost 25 years ago. I remember being a kid and how that movie scared me and made me realize how vulnerable the Earth is regarding cosmic collisions. "Don't look up" really made me experience that feeling again. Good job.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
Cringe is the magic word
Good premise, poorly executed. The only good part about this show is the androids. Pretty good acting there. But the rest...low budget special effects, horrible screen writing and so many cringe moments. I literally frowned worse and worse with each episode. I swear it just keeps getting dumber. Plots that lead nowhere, absolutely throws science out the window. And the rating is higher than Lovecraft Country which is a far far better show. Both are silly but this show is takes itself so serious that it becomes ridiculous.
