Inside No. 9: Wuthering Heist (2021)
Season 6, Episode 1

Don't see how someone couldn't like this
11 May 2021
For me, this episode is a new top favourite. It's by far the silliest episode they have ever done, and they knew that. Steve and Reece probably knew what people were expecting from an 'Inside No 9' , and so completely undermined everyone's expectations by using slapstick humour and unashamed knob jokes- and that's what made it great.

Interesting, engaging semi-autobiographical film
5 March 2021
This is a decent film. By no means an BAFTA winner, but it's a great piece of work retelling the story of Madness' formation. There's a few instances of some shoddy acting, but what would you expect? Also something interesting to note is that a lot of the diegetic background music is songs that the band (at the time the film is set) would then go on to write and release on albums. Overall a good, engaging, enjoyable film, that may or may not be everyone's cup of tea- but as the title itself says, you can feel free to Take It Or Leave It.

Inside No. 9: Thinking Out Loud (2020)
Season 5, Episode 5
3/10
Predictable and somewhat offensive
8 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Don't get me wrong- I am a big fan of No 9 and indeed everything that Reece and Steve have done. However I found this episode underwhelming. It had a good idea, but the blatant exposition at the end of the episode pulled this one down for me. Also the depiction of people with Multiple Personality Disorder as insane murderers is tired and offensive.

Psychoville (2009–2011)

An underrated dark comedy from half of the league of gentlemen
27 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Somehow this slipped the net- yet another great comedy horror from Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, half of the League of Gentlemen. A notably great episode is s1e4, a homage to the films of Hitchcock, especially Rope. The whole episode was filmed in one take, and focuses on two of the best characters. Series 2 is as good as the first, but taking a more science-fiction turn with nazis heads returning from the dead and telekinetic dwarves. Would recommend to any fans of the League or Inside No 9, or anybody who enjoys surreal dark comedies.

The Eric Andre Show (2012– )
10/10
A show about nothing
30 November 2020
Arguably one of the most important comedies ever. For everyone saying that it has no meaning or reason- that's the point. Everything the character of Eric does is a complete opposite of the way we are told to live and behave. He strips naked in front of other people, destroys stuff, takes no interest in his guest. And yet, it creates an almost more human connection and experience than any other normal talk show could. Whilst other talk show hosts behave how is seen as 'acceptable' and 'correct', Eric does the opposite. He breaks down the barrier that talk shows create between the host and the audience, reaching to the primal instincts to just not care about anything. What was intended to just be the worst talk show ever ended up one of the most important comedies of all time.
