Burn Notice (2007)
Ten stars don't do it justice!
When I watched the premiere of Burn Notice, I was hooked. The unique characters, fast action scenes, the comedy throw in, and even the idea just had me from the first five minutes. Burn Notice is about a spy who gets a "Burn Notice" on him, which basically means he has been fired from his job, left with no money, and has an FBI tail watching him so he doesn't try and get out of Miami. He gains help in the form of an ex-girlfriend, an old friend who is informing the FBI on him, and his mother to help a series of clients with there problems, which is anything from a corrupt boss to a drug dealer trying to silence a witness. The one thing I really love is how the spy deals with his problems. He thinks up of really clever solutions to large problems on hand, usually only requiring a trip to the local hardware store and some ingenuity. I give it ten stars, and just say if you watch it, you'll see why.
Serenity (2005)
Great Movie, but Much Better Show!
First, this is a great movie. No doubt about it. It has the whole shibang; action, comedy, romance, and the rest. Its special effects increased dramatically from the show, and it builds on the characters from the show, so if you haven't watched most of the show, this is gonna be a confusing movie to watch. But what let me down, and why I didn't give it a ten, is that the plot from the show seems to be heading towards one aspect of the plot, but this movie takes a completely different turn, so it might annoy some faithful fans of the show. All in all, great movie, worth seeing it at least once, and maybe a second if you are really into the show.
MythBusters (2003)
Educational, But Still Hilarious!
This is BY FAR my favorite show. Period. Its funny, no, downright hilarious, and still educational. I love how different Adam and Jamie are. Adam is immature, funny, and goofy, while Jamie is sardonic, sarcastic, and serious but still funny. They go great together. Another great part of this show isn't just watching the experiments, but seeing how they made it, what problems came up with the experiment, and fixing them. So that is somewhat the educational part, but more so is that the are busting myths that are actually heard of. Like whether walking or running is better in the rain. So, basically, this is stuff that you could use in everyday life. But my favorite part of the shows is the massive projects that they do. Like say blowing a house up with bug bombs, or getting the life rafts on airplanes dropped from a helicopter. So its like the movie, Jackass, but for nerds.
