Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
This "movie" is a 2hr long commercial
It is literally just an ad for WB and HBO Max. If you give these people your money I feel sorry for you. PLEASE, for the love of all that is holy, STOP giving these people your money just to spit back in your face with something like this. It is nothing short of insulting that these companies keep underestimating the intelligence of the general population. But it is nothing short of disappointing and demoralizing that so much of the general population continue to blindly throw money at corporations that have no respect for them, their intelligence, or society as a whole. This is not culture. There is no value in this so called "film."
My Unorthodox Life (2021)
She's just a wannabe, sellout, reality show personality
Don't watch. This woman is not a hero. She's just using her experience to try and create some fame for herself. All of her experiences aside, she's not doing this show in good faith. She's just trying to be like the Kardashians and make a bunch of money. If you buy into it you're fooling yourself. Also, she's not some mogul or icon. She literally married a rich guy who owned a fashion company.
The Ice Road (2021)
It's good if you get high first....well, not really...
Tried watching this and made it 20 minutes in before I realized it was gonna be garbage and turned it off. Later, my girlfriend and I decided to smoke a little silly salad and try rewatching simply to make fun of it. This movie is SO dumb. How dumb is it? So dumb that even while high it is nearly unbearable to watch. The CGI that they use throughout looks like something out of a mid 2000s video game. The timing makes no sense. They repeatedly tell you they only have 30 hours to deliver and go out of their way to keep pushing that idea. I suppose they thought simply repeating it would build some sort of suspense???? The characters had no sense of urgency at all. And you know from the beginning that it's the type of dumb, predictable action movie where the miners get saved in the end and everything is resolved. One of the dumbest parts is when Liam Neeson says they need $200,000 to buy a big rig and then immediately gets an alert that they're looking for drivers and what's the reward??? $200,000 lmfao! So obvious and predictable. It's just more sub-par Netflix garbage.
The World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals (2021)
Annoying and Pretentious
Three uppity influencers visit some pretty cool places and babble non-stop about how "gorgeous" and "amazing" everything is. I love travel shows and seeing really interesting places, but this show sucks. Who the heck are these people anyway? Why should I care what their opinions are? Apparently they're "experts" but they never really do anything to show it. There's nothing informative or entertaining about them. The places they visit are cool but I don't need 3 rando's cackling and going on about how cool it is. I can see that. Tell me something interesting! Show me you're an expert. Inform me! If you wanna see some cool places just watch it on mute.
The Hustler (2021)
My favorite new game show
Craig Ferguson is awesome. I've been waiting for him to come back to tv and host something. This show is unique. I've personally never seen another game show like this one. It's set up kind of like a murder mystery. It's obvious that's the vibe they're going for, even completing the look of the show with secret doors behind the bookcase (how the contestants who get voted off leave the stage). Five contestants work together to answer trivia questions and bank $10,000 for correct answers. One of the five players actually already knows all of the answers. They are the "hustler" trying not to reveal this secret. Throughout gameplay, facts are given about the hustler's personal life, meant to serve as clues for which of the contestants is the hustler. It's a lot of fun trying to guess who the hustler is. The people playing are actually quite good at faking it because I've not successfully guessed yet who the hustler was. It's always exciting in the end to find out who it was. There are two contestants left at the end of the game, along with the hustler and if the two can successfully agree on who the hustler is, they split the money between them. If the hustler ends up fooling one or both of them and they don't agree, the hustler has successfully "hustled" the other players and leaves with all of the money. The game gets pretty intense in the final round because of the accusations and everyone trying to convince the other two that they are not the hustler. It's a lot of fun to watch. Don't knock it til you watch it!
The Wall (2016)
It's fun to watch
Some of the other reviewers on here are annoying. Not everything has to have some profound meaning or premise. When I'm in the mood to watch something like that, it's what I do. When I'm in the mood to watch something exciting, I watch this show. The worst part about this show is the weird, melodramatic, heartfelt speeches the contestants do. It's obvious that the producers ask everyone to do this. That sort of thing isn't exactly new to game shows. Everyone always has some interesting fact about themselves or their family and some heartfelt b.s. that adds some level of emotion for the viewer. I personally find that stuff annoying. But it absolutely makes sense why they do it. They could stand to take it down a few notches. If they did that, it would be even more of a solid show. If you like games of chance with a little bit of strategy and some trivia, you will like this game. It's exciting to watch. If you're a pretentious dolt who thinks every game show should be like Jeopardy or some other game that already exists, don't watch it.
Dream Home Makeover (2020)
It's just rich, boring, white people whacking each other off
The other reviews nail it. Boring, rich, white people with no sense of style or personality congratulating each other for how successful they are and doing shameless self-promotion. I like shows like this, usually. Fixer Upper was similar. It's just been done too many times at this point and this show takes all of the fun and personality out of it. It's just a show to promote these people and their personal lives/business. It's not about actually showing them going in and building/designing anything. They sit on a couch and try to seem interesting while someone else does all the work and then they take all the profit and credit. What I really want is a show like Grand Designs. Not a bunch of clueless, tone deaf rich people redoing the same rooms on a bunch of ugly McMansions and then screaming at the reveal about how gorgeous it is when there is absolutely nothing special or unique about it. Most people in America can never attain the sort of wealth it would take to blow $30,000 on one room. And having the nerve to call it a "tight budget" when there are shows that redo a whole house with that amount is just disgusting. It's not reality. It's absolute fantasy.
